Hey guys!
Long story short, i been getting thinner hairlines on the front of my hair since i was around 18 (i am 28 now) so i decided to go really short since nothing decent long can do anything good, and its pretty embarassing at this point IMO.
I was thinking if you guys who has been bald or stubble for very long could give me an opinion if its just me or or not.
The back of my head, i dont feel its properly shaped to pull off really short so i dont know if i should go buzzcut or go stubble.
I love the stubble look from the front, but my profile shot i just get annoyed by the back of my head, i was wondering if you guys think its still good overal look or should i go buzzcut instead.

Greetings Sath. Man, your head is what it is. And it's nothing to be bashful about. People are going to nitpik just about anything because, well, that's what people do. It's just part of human genetics except in the case of those who are very enlightened. And they are in a very small minority. In fact anyone who tells you that they are enlightened is almost certainly not.
That being said I think that you have a fine headshape for whatever degree of slyness you choose. If I were in your position I would just go ahead and go for the fill monty, scrape it all off. Give it a while to normalize in your head and see how it feels. What is usually recommended in here is the 30 day rule, scrape it and keep it that way for a month. If at the end of that period you decide that it just ain't your style you can let it grow out to a suitable length.
Ignore negative comments. Remember to breathe, that part is of utmost importance.....breathing I mean.
Above all remember that it is just a haircut, nothing more. If you don't like it just let it grow out and change it.
Oh yeah, and keep the goatee, dude. It's a good look.

I will never shave it off completely yet until i i have alot of hair on my head to the point i dont even have the stubble.
I actually prefer some stubble, but thats just me.
And yeah i did read the 30 days rule here, I do try but unfortunetly when i see my own reflection on windows, mirrors randomly (especially with it being sunny these days) i do kind of get second thoughts.
The good part though between the stubble and that buzzcut look is, it doesnt take long to get that buzzcut if i do change my mind, especially if one has fas hairgrowth (as i do).
And dont worry, the circle beard stays for sure, i have had it for years

Welcome to the board, Sath.
You are not alone in worrying about your head shape. It is a very common concern expressed by guys contemplating buzzing or shaving. One of the more common responses is that we are our own worst critics. I certainly am of myself.
Frankly, I would really like to have the curve the back of your head has. Mine is flat, but I found out no one but me seemed to notice or care.
You look fine sir. Quit worrying about it.

Want to change shape? (if only we could lol)
Bald + circle beard is a very common look, like you. Always remind me of Joe Kucan in the game Command and Conquer as Kane
Or these two in The Island (i like the guy on the right, perfect combo)
Theres also Sam worthington in the new movie Sabotage were he has goatee and went bald, quite a bold look.
But yeah I always think of this whole "you are your own worst critic", I guess its either accept it and deal with it or let it grow out into a buzz cut so it somewhat hides the shape.
But hearing you guys saying mine looks fine is good since i always think those who have the buzzcut/shaved dont think it looks "round enough".
Got to learn to stop thinking about it

I felt the same way you do. I worried for a long time that I might not have the right shape for a buzzcut or a shaved bald head. My parents joked for years that my head was too pointy for me to ever go short. I believed them until here recently. I went on a leap of faith back in September and buzzed my head to 1/2 inch. I couldn't believe how good I looked and I got so many compliments. I could see the so called point at my crown but it wasn't as bad as my imagination made it out to be. Nobody has ever remarked over that so-called point. Over the next few months I experimented with shorter lengths and finally last month with the help of these good guys, I shaved my head completely bald permanently and I wouldn't dare think about going back. I love it too much! You'll be just fine. Uniqueness in your dome should make you feel special instead of possibly bringing you down. I'd wear it with pride and like the others have said, "we're on own worst critic."

All of those shots of you look good, especially the stubble ones. There is nothing wrong with the shape of your head. As you have heard from the other guys, we all wondered this at one time or another. And as you said " got to stop thinking about it." I know that's often easier said than done. But I do think the thirty day rule would be good to apply. If you gave it time, you'd probably get used to the look and eventually not give your head shape or appearance a second thought. And hopefully, like most of us, you will like what you see in the mirror.

Sath, you actually look good both ways. Your buzzcut emphasizes your dark facial hair (which looks good, by the way). I think that you eventually would look good with a completely scraped dome, but try the stubble look for a while and see how that goes.

I very much appreciate all the compliments and wise words and i will for the 30 days rule, i have already gotten used to the look from the front, its just from the side that worries and i need to work on ignoring that part mentality.
But only my father who keeps going on and on saying how this look doesnt fit me at all, my sister says trim the beard down and my mom prefers the buzzcut.
However my aunt, uncle and one of my cousins (no other relative has seen me like this yet lol) say its good, and ones drastic look like this will get used to it...maybe they were telling the truth, maybe they were just being nice and not trying to hurt my feelings, i dont know.
But as i said before, since its such a short style, its easier to see hair growth into a buzzcut faster within 2-3 weeks if i change my mind.
One thing that i thought about is, in pictures the shape is more obvious and specific since in pictures you try to show off that specific part that annoys you but not bothered by the rest that doesnt bother you, but in reality, as in motion, you keep turning your head and angles and lighting changes to the point that specific part one takes a picture of, goes away and the overal look gets better.
Atleast thats how i see it at this point, i guess thats why it keeps bothering because i take pictures in profile and then i focus on that specifc angle but in motion my head and neck keeps turning around and overal its decent.

Welcome, Sath! I think that the buzzcut looks good as well, but if you ever decided to go sly. you certainly would have a nice tan and the facial hair to rock the sly look! But if you're happy where you are, it's all good, I think just about any short hairstyle will work for you, IMO.

Hello Sath:
I don't get why you are questioning the shape of your head? It looks great to me!
I think that you definitely look best with the stubble - it really makes the thinning part of your hair blend right in with the rest.

Sly is a no go for now, not until i am losing hair naturally too much but that wont happen for MANY years i believe.
But thank you for the kind words, i just wish my parents saw what you see when they look at me lol

Thats why i went with stubble look than buzzcut, you still see the ups and down with buzzcut (even though its not that big of a deal compared to longer hair) from the front, but with stubble, its all even out.

I like the stubble look. I'd keep it...or go smooth! (I know, I know, you don't want to go smooth yet!)
