« on: March 01, 2014, 08:06:25 PM »
Im thinking about growing one as you can tell by the name of the thread a big beard always wanted to to see what it would be like but due to my growing pattern i couldnt...im going to show a pic now i hope it works if not its the guy from the hangover hope you seen or heard of it.

I was wondering how long it would take to grow a beard like it i know beards grow at different rates but the estimate...my beard wont be as good as the beard in the  pic (as in full wise)no way near but it be good enough...i might not do it yet if anything it be a beard close enough but still how long do you think it will take?

Not sure how long that would take for you, but I didn't think I could grow a decent beard, but this year I let it grow for seven weeks and was pleasantly surprised at the result. I should have kept going, but I am going to attempt it again.

You'll never know what yours will look like unless you give it a good try.

For most people it would take at least three months to grow in like the one in the photo.   Go for it and don't worry about the weak spots.  Every beard has them.  Letting the beard get a little longer usually makes them much less obvious.

Some of my spots look like they are filling in which is obviously good im not really sure how long its been growing out for though weird as that sounds...i started growing it in january but then trimmed it which was sometime in february cause the goatee/van dyke area grows quicker and fuller then my cheeks so i trimmed it to keep it same length...same as the sideburns area then sometime after i trimmed i decided to grow it out so far its looking ok im at what you may call the scruffy stage...the urges to trim are coming into play but i really want to see what it looks like big.

Just go for it. Set a date that you aren't going to trim before. Me and some of the guys at work did that last winter. Started around October and we couldn't trim until February.

The average growth rate is about 1/2 inch per month.  So your mileage may vary.  I would guess that the beard in you link is at least 3 months growth, but would be more like 4 or 5 for me.  Beards like that don't grow over night or even in a few weeks.
