Nobody's Noticed

I've been wearing my hair in a buzz cut for several years now and decided to start going sly in 2014. I was interested in peoples reactions, but to my astonishment, I went to parents for dinner and they didn't even notice. My friends didn't notice it either, in fact I've been over to my folks house twice now and nothing. I guess people really don't notice things about you more than you do.

That is not uncommon, as amazing as it may sound. Goes to show how we waste a lot of energy about how others perceive us who the truth is it isn't even on their radar most of the time.

Same thing happened to me. I had been buzzing my head without a guard for a couple of years. I was worried about shaving all the way with a blade. When I finally did it, I had to bring it to my wife's attention. She didn't even notice. She doesn't pay much attention to me anyway, but still ... Lol.

Great example of what has been stated so many times on this forum.
So much anxiety is spent on "what will people think/say" when the reality is that few if any are going to notice or care.
But, seriously, your MOTHER didn't notice?

I was sure she would notice, but since I go over to visit them a couple of times a week, changes that aren't that drastic slip under the radar.

Bald Guy,
It's almost disappointing when nobody notices when go from skin head / buzz cut to a shaved bald look. As others have said, this is quite common. Had few comments myself when I went bald.
Still you notice your new look and smooth sly head. And that's what counts !

She doesn't pay much attention to me anyway.
LOL!
When I went from buzz no guard to SLY, it took quite a while for most to notice. It's an easy transition. But it feels so much nicer that I've never gone back to buzz-no-guard.
That first day, I got six comments about my bow tie. Nothing about my shaved head.

I've told this story before: the first day I showed up at work with my head shaved, about 20 minutes into a meeting with my boss, he asked "Did you get new glasses?"

My boss noticed immediately and her boss asked if I had shaved my head again. That was the end of it.

Likely people have noticed but have not said anything.

Shaved heads are more common today, and people are starting to treat a shaved head as "just another haircut" On the other hand, if you walked in with a mohawk dyed pink or purple, well...that may start some conversation!

Being a lady, everyone noticed.
Every time I see a lady with the confidence to rock a bald head, I always think that they must be an awesome person.

It really is at times you caring about how you look more then others...specially worrying about what others think also i like to think back to a time before hairloss and what i thought of bald people...did i always look at them? did they stick out? etc etc no i didnt take notice of them...so i think this is what most people think cause end off the day the ones that do judge would you give them the light of day with hair?.

6 days in and everyone is still blissfully unaware. :)I think I'll turn this into a game to see how long before my family picks up on it, because believe me my parents have no problem voicing their opinion on my style choices over the years.
