Standard Time

I'm looking forward to Standard Time this weekend.

With local sunrise not until 7:50 or so this morning, it's hard to get up and get going in the morning.  The good thing is that this is the 'latest' sunrise of the year.  Sunday we move back to standard time and the sunrise will not get this late again before the days get longer.

Just remembering the days in Alaska where sunrise was about 10:15 a.m, although the sky started getting light about 8:15 a.m.

Feeling sluggish with the shorter days of winter.  Looking forward to February!

Our clocks changed last weekend , but i refuse to change and my watch and clock stays at British summer time . It does not worry me that in December sunrise is 0900, sunset is 1650 . But your right February is the glimmers of the end of winter

THIS! All this clock-changing nonsense is an anachronism that needs to be eradicated.

Just declare DST as the new "Standard time" and keep it there.

I kind of like standard time but it is probably just because being a farmer I work less that time of year. I wouldn't mind it being one or the other though so I would have to change the clock. In the summer we are going to go from sun up til sun down no matter what the clock says. I just think that is funny that some people like my sister in law think dst adds more sunlight hours to the day. I can't convince her that changing your clock doesn't change the sun.

I think all this dates back to WW2 and the need to avoid / conserve use of electricity.  The only advantage to the change will be kids not standing by the road, in the dark, waiting for the school bus.

Just set the clock once and forget it.  I do not like the change either way.  I just wish we would stick with either one, DST or Standard time.  Haven't we all advanced to the point we can alter our schedules if we depend on the sun.  I think we already do that.

Yes, we get paid 13 hours for tonight......On a side note, most of Arizona doesn't observe DST, so I guess they are lucky....During my two tours in Iraq, DST was not observed, though it was weird seeing the sun set at 6:05pm one day, and two days later seeing the sun set at 4:55pm!

I am bad about changing the clock in my car.  I usually just add or subtract an hour from the time displayed.  This bothers those who ride with me...especially when I finally get around to changing it, and it really throws them off.
