thinking of getting an ear piercing

Nice feedback from the Senior VP at work.  Said he wants to shave his head one of these days and get an earring, too!  Sounded serious!  I took it as a compliment.

The president of our organization came by this afternoon during an open house this afternoon.  Asked about the new ear piercing. I explained.  He gave a huge thumbs up of support!

I hadn't checked the forum in a couple of months and saw this thread...

I had to respond, as I actually got a double ear piercing (hoops in the left ear) on 8/1.  Had been thinking about it for some time....and decided to go for it.  I was debating getting both ears done, but thought I should test the waters with just one ear...but decided to get a double, just to stand out a bit

And other than a couple of "Mr. Clean" comments, no one has really said anything...so either they don't like it and are polite enough not to be hurtful, or they just don't care (I'm thinking it's probably the second)

My mother hasn't seen it..I'm sure she'll have some choice negative things to say about it....but...what can you do?

Was just discussing with my daughter yesterday (dropped her off at college today) about the possibility of getting a piercing. I am thinking just the left ear, but she thinks the single ear piercing look is outdated and that I should get both pierced - to which I reminded her that at my age, I can certainly get away with a look she deems as outdated.

Still looking at just one ear but am open to suggestions.

I don't see to see cuffs too much anymore. It's been years, in fact. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm guessing that was just a fad. Personally, I've got both ears pierced but I wear only one earring, a small diamond stud in my left ear.

I kind of agree with your daughter. Not in that the single ear would look "outdated", but in that I think both ears pierced looks pretty good on a guy.

Thanks.  It's been one month this weekend.  I'm really enjoying the earring.  Think it goes well with the SLY head.
