Hey guys im new on here but have been trimming/buzzing my head for years and just recently (about a year) have been shaving my head bald. So i thought id shed some light and give advice to anyone wondering which way is best,I've seen alot of posts on here about that topic but for a novice it gets confusing so hope this helps and might help any veteran shaver wanting something new to try. So when i first started shaving i was too nervous to try the razor after hearing bad experiences,so i wanted a good clipper and shaver combo also keeping in mind price which was a factor. I first purchased the wahl 5 star shaver around 50$ and used my old Philips clippers to get the hair short enough for the shaver which up till lately worked ok. I really want to stress this to any newbie that for a shaver to work and give you that sleek look the hair has to be trimmed very short! Something i didn't figure out at first. After using my wahl shaver it worked amazing removes all stubble and hair from my head very powerful cordless as well i HIGHLY recommend this product! its also good on your face and beard but id avoid it on your face if you have curly facial hair however. Now the one flaw this does have, after using the shaver on my head and face about 3 times a week the foil on the shaver peeled and cracked not even a month later so After researching stores or places to buy the foil cover i found no options other than contacting wahl and trying to get a replacement head. Wahl was pretty good they sent me one out with no charge it arrived in about a week which considering the factory is only 15 mins from my house is what it is. I did find the foils online from a beauty supply store for something like 25$ which for a piece of cheap plastic is a lil too much,if your interested in this you should know you WILL need extra foils there poorly made and break easy since then ive gone threw 4! Now if price and time are factors in your shaving like mine during my waiting for the foil to arrive i finally tried the mach 3 razor with shaving cream on my head and it worked very good! The cuts and nicks will happen keep that in mind. No clipper or shaver will get you as close as a razor! But the wahl shaver is as close as it gets! Now after hearing the reviews on here about the wahl balding clippers (not shaver) i decided to give them a try. Again clippers are to trim your hair to a desired length or get hair close for a razor or shaver. The clippers are perfect they look good feel good and perform great with a strong motor and very sharp blades these take your hair down to stubble pretty much a one day growth! I have been using these on my head without a shaver to give me a nice stubble shadow look it goes great with a lil facial stubble too! Few draw backs there heavy and very sharp if you don't have a steady hand id recommend having someone use them on you. The name balding clippers can be misleading im sure there are people that will think these will shave you fully bald (idid at first) but they wont. I really recommend them if you want something lower than #1 but not fully bald. Also i should add ive used the balding clippers on my facial hair which gives it a great stubble look be careful not to push to hard especially around the adams apple though. Im Sorry for the length of this but if your new and looking for a good shave routine iknow its tough and very confusing. check out the wahl balding clippers and the wahl 5 star shaver to get you smooth both of these are a bit pricy if your looking for a cheaper way and want to be fully bald use a good razor shave with some cream or gel thanks guys hope this helps.
