Any Love for "Bald Guyz" around here?
« on: July 01, 2013, 07:54:51 PM »
Hey everyone. With SlyBaldGuys having all kinds of endorsements, from BeeBald to Headblade, I was intrigued to see that another brand I often spot in stores, Bald Guyz, was missing from the site (or presumably not displayed front and center).

When I first starting shaving my head seven months ago, I bought a couple shave creams, your standard Edge Sensitive cream, and this:

When I first started shaving, I disliked the Bald Guyz immediately––I thought it was too thin of a shave cream, didn't offer enough glide, etc.

But as I was coming down low on my Edge cream again, I discovered the Bald Guyz in the back of the cupboard and decided to give it a try this morning.

Man am I glad I did! All the complaints I had against Bald Guyz were gone when I saw that this cream didn't clog my razor and provided, amazingly, a better shave.

I also didn't have a tone of white gook all over my hands or wasted a bunch of shave cream.

So for you guys, I have a few questions:

1) Have you ever used Bald Guyz brand? What did you think?

2) What alternatives to this Bald Guyz cream from Headblade or BeeBald might exist? Are they cheaper/more expensive? What are your thoughts?

I used it for a while, then my local stores stopped carrying it.  Got some Head Slick and have been using that, sometimes with Shave Secret, sometimes alone.  I put them about on par with each other.

I think it was pretty decent when I used it alone or mixed with Shave Secret. I still have a half-tube left, but I've been so fixated on Head Slick that I haven't used it in a while. On a side note, the guy on the tube looks somewhat like Razor X...

Benlen, I guess you can compare them, except that Headslick lasts a lot longer because you only need a small amount mixed with Shave Secret....Bald Guyz, on the other hand, I had to use a larger amount to be effective. But either way, as long as you use a shaving brush, they both can be very effective.

It's a shaving "cream" that is in my current rotation. I don't use it a lot but I like it when I do. Also, I'll second Bayou Sly's recommendation of using it with a brush. It helps to really lather it up.

Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

For several years, my shaving gel of choice has been a 50/50 mix of Headslick and Bald Guyz shave gel. I love Headslick and how it lathers up, but I never liked the fact my razor would clog up. Bald Guys shavel gel, which is ok by itself, helps minimize the clogging.

Agonizing over what cannot be is an insult to what is.

I'll look in the stores when I go shopping later on, but it may be discontinued.... :(
