Hey guys, I am new to this forum and I am undecided as to whether to keep my hair really short or just go completely bald. I used to have a nice head of hair throughout highschool and my hairline started receding freshmen year of college. Now (21 years old) i have thin hair at the top and I often wear hats to cover it. Just want opinions of what I should do. I am nervous of the reactions I will get and how I will do with the ladies.

Hi Kev: Welcome to the sly fraternity. Glad that ya joined us. Any time one thinks about shaving one's head than that person will never be satisfied until the "deed is done". I say embrace being bald and come to the sly side. The sly life gets better each & every day.
I can guarantee that you will like the look. Matter of fact. . . you will love the look. Keep us posted to your road to slyness.

Looks like it is already very short in the first photo. Try shaving it and see how you like it. At the length you're wearing it in that first shot, it will only take about a week to grow back if you don't like it.

Welcome Kevin. You do not have to worry about the reactions from other people. If you go sly, you will instill a confidence you never had before. People in general and the ladies will take notice of this new confidence. If all this displeases you after going sly, you can let it grow back. Embrace the future.

Your existing balding hair is already pushing you in one direction. There is only one way to move from the top of this fence. When you move is the question. Let the thinning hair push you to the bald side, or do it yourself.
As you can see from the profile pictures on this site, bald heads look great. Confidence? yes. Notice how many guys say "I wish I had done it sooner." "What was I worrying about?" etc.
If you have clippers, take it down to no guard, then razor shave it bald. If you don't have clippers, ask a friend or barber to clipper it down. You don't want to shave until your existing hair is extremely short.
Stick around. They guys here can coach you along. Welcome.

Welcome to SBG !
Thanks for joining and posting pics. From the looks of the see-thru hair and frontal recession, best to keep it buzzed tight. When you are ready or you just want to try on a whim, buzz it no guard and lather and shave smooth. Once you establish a head shaving routine, it becomes fun ! You will notice your confidence wildly soars and girls begin to see that confidence and high self-esteem. At that point you have overcome the baldness worries and wondered why it took you so long to achieve this ! Good Luck ! Keep sharing your experiences with others your age here in the same bald boat !

Welcome to the club, Kev. You're so close to sky now you might as well go for it! I think you'll look good. And if you don't like the look, you're hair will grow back.

Hey, Kevikev!
The gentlemen before me have said it so well. You never will know the answer to whether you like being Sly until you try it. And the "what if" you are feeling now might fade to the back of your thoughts, but it will not ever go away until you try it.
I also had the MPB peninsula when I was your age. Unfortunately, the shaved head at that time was viewed as an extreme style, so I never considered it. Now I really wish I had. It is a great feeling.
You cannot wear a hat forever...

Welcome aboard Kevikev!
as the others have said, only if you have tried bald, you'll learn whether you like the bald look. I think you get used to it quickly, just like the people around you. I'm guessing a bald head goes well with you. go for it

Welcome!
As everyone has said before me, give it a try, if you don't like it, you can grow it back.
One point I always think important though (and If I'm repeating someone's words here, please forgive me, I only skimmed through quickly), is that by wearing hats fo hide your thinning hair you're allowing your hair-loss to control you. If you shave your head you're taking control back and doing what you want to do. That will absolutely give you a feeling of empowerment and control over your head again. For most people, that brings with it a confidence you probably haven't felt since you realised you were losing your hair.
