Busta,

Lots of good suggestions from Ty; I would also add Schick Xtreme III for razors.  Be prepared to experiment to find your perfect combination.  That's part of the fun of headshaving.  Welcome to the gang!
How is that Hopey / Changey thing working for you?

Guess I'm in the club. My barber just did it with a straight razor. I then went out and got all my supplies for next time: Headblade, HeadLube, HeadSlick, and Some "Men's Series Facial Scrub" for exfoliation (didn't see any of the other brands you guys recommended at the store).

I have major razor burn, my scalp is all red, is this normal? I just put some HeadLube on it.

Welcome Bustabucket.  Hope your head is better soon.  Maybe that's a reaction to the straight razor.

I also just have naturally sensitive skin. I'll take a shower and keep applying the lotion for now.

by the way, does regular sunscreen work on the head? specifically this brand:

Is it REALLY any different to get a sunscreen that's formulated to work on the head?

Congrats busta!  You shouldn't have too much razor burn if the barber did it correctly.

Any SPF should be good, but I'm not experienced in using that specific brand.

Congratulations busta on joining the sly side. O0    Try some of the Bald Guyz moisturing lotion for the irritation and begin getting ready for those head rubs.

I think it's turned out pretty well so far.

How often do you guys shave? How long is too long to wait to do it with a razor?

I shave everyday, though I will occasionally skip a day.  I wouldn't go more than 4, maybe 5 days without shaving with a razor.

How do you guys see the back of your head? Do you just bring another mirror around? I shaved for the first time and I think I just killed the back of my head. Halfway through I said "screw it" and tried to estimate.
