wanna know how bad it can get here? two examples:

       1. I saw a show about how this family was working on the third generation of welfare. none of them worked. all they did was mooch off the system.

Okay - let me add to this.  I taught kids who were third generation public housing.  They have no desire to move elsewhere because rent would be higher and money could not be spent on the luxuries - as opposed to the needs.

I know of a mother who has 9 kids; six have been coached to throw test so she can get the "crazy check" (a federal stipend for kids who have need special education).  Each kid is "worth" $605 a month - tax free.  The kids are told to not do well in school for fear they will lose the money.  The mom drives an '06 Escalade.  The kids told me the money comes from the government.  When asked where the government got the money, they said, "They don't need money, they just write checks".

The money is not needed.  All the services it should be paying for are received free in public school.  It's gravy to Mom.  She does not work, collect $3,630 a month tax free and gets a new Escalade - along with WIC vouchers.  I work, I pay taxes, I drive a 10 year old Jeep, and pay taxes.

Where the heck is the justice?

My history lesson's indicate that one of the the reasons this is the "land of the free" is that...."back when" it was fairly difficult to become a citizen......

"fairly' is the key word there......

Everyone has (or had) the opportunity to become a citizen.....just play it straight, man...and follow the basic program...huh?

It's like these companies that don't do background checks and drug screening.....

and then have "problems"

***sigh***

Because no one questions it, people like this will keep getting away with it :Xo!

At the end of the day, for me, I feel satisfied knowing that I work hard for what I have...I have to stop wasting unnecessary frustration on people that are scumbags, because sooner or later it will catch up to them...

The system encourages people not to work. Stay home, have kids, the more kids you have, the more money we'll give you. The way it's set up you have to be filthy rich or totally destitute to make it. Those of us in the middle are the ones getting shafted without any lubricant. The ones I feel sorry for are the people who try to earn a living and only need a little assistance. who aren't trying to milk the system. But yet get denied.

Oh, and I totally agree with the urine testing Idea and the proof Of residency. Add to that, room mates incomes. I know alot of people who would put down the whole rent payment amount, when in actuallity they're only payin half or a third.
