Work, Taxes, Urine Test
Like a lot of folks in this great United States, I have a job. I
work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes
my taxes as they see fit. In order to get that paycheck. I am
required to pass a random urine test, which I have no problem
with.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my
taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.
Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare
check, because I have to pass one to earn it for them?
Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on
their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping
someone sit on their butt. Could you imagine how much money the
state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public
assistance check.

And how much money would be saved if while taking that urine test you had to provide proof of residency.

Do you guys pay much tax in the US?
Im currently self employed and I pay through the nose. I pay tax, employers national insurance and employees national insurance. I lose about 1/3 to 40% of my weekly earnings. Think I might get myself sent to prison so I can live a cushy life

it would get mine too. but i'm sure some organization would say that drug testing infringes on the rights of welfare recipients. or something like that.

Do you have human rights in US. I think the human rights that we are covered by is EU statute/law and basically everything seems to be covered by this. People have the right to live and sponge it seems.
Take for example a family where the parents DONT want to get jobs because they cant be bothered, they get benefits galore, this annoys me as Im wondering why Im paying for them whereas if someone is struggling to get work or just lost their job they do need some help or asylum seekers have fled their country because of inhumane treatment or war then fair enough Im happy to contribute as I could lose my cash inflow and need help myself.
PBurke-maybe after youve straightened this out in the US you could hop over the water and straighten things out here

wanna know how bad it can get here? two examples:
1. I saw a show about how this family was working on the third generation of welfare. none of them worked. all they did was mooch off the system.
2. I went to a casino one time and was talking to this lady while waiting for the little bus thing. This lady, who had pulled up in a caddy and had more gold than a pawn shop, tells me that "as long as i got a quarter left from my welfare check, i am gonna come to the casino."
now these are only two that i can think of off hand. but cases like this really get under my skin. a little help in a time of need is one thing but that is way too much.

That gets me so sick. I think I'm going to vomit now.

That is pretty bad, there should be something done about those people. Maybe a good beating followed by taking their welfare off them.
In the UK I remember reading an article about 3 generations but the 3rd were just a few babies. All of the parts of the family were popping out babies like it was the end of the world soon. The Grandparents had something like 12 kids and were on benefits. None of the members of the family had any intention of getting a job.
I dont know how true this was as it was from a tabloid.
