I'm sitting here eating some salsa and reading SBG and all the sudden I realize there's sweat running down the side of my head. Turns out the salsa is a little on the fiery side!
In the San Francisco Bay Area we have a lot of Mexican grocery stores, so there's one chain that I buy a lot of my meat and salsa from called Chavez Market. Their salsa is amazingly addicting, but it has that "hurt so good" type of heat.
How do you guys like your salsa?

I like my salsa with lots of flavor and where the heat sneaks up on you so that you're reaching for a towel

I am a heat whimp! I like my salsa in the mild to medium category! If I can only taste the heat, then it is no good to me. But I was at Taco Time yesterday and I do like their hot sauce. But I apply here and there on my food but I don't drown the food in the sauce. I should also note that I get a sweat on my noggin from Italian Dressing too!

The hotter the better. I put it on my tacos.

I like heat -- anyone who's tried my hot pepper jelly can attest to that -- but there is a point where it goes from enhancing the flavor to just plain hot. That's where I draw the line. I want the heat to boost the flavor, not hide it. That's just "culinary macho"

I like a bit of heat, but not too much. It has to be all about flavor.
If pain > flavor, then too hot!

Mild to medium on the salsa but I love spicy food otherwise especially Chinese or Thai.

So could I. I think that's my favorite.

I'm with Marsh on this one. Mild or medium for me.
