usually, a baseball cap. but for full sun protection, you can't beat a good western straw hat. atwood 7x hereford low crown. although the fit isn't as good with shaved sides and back! anyone else experience this?

My hats have always fit funny.........think it's cause my head ain't right

I would have to agree that the 10-Gallon Hat holds appeal for the fact that it fits all my sly skills... that and at times, its the only gear that I rock that can contain my ego.  Got to LOVE that headroom!
Peace

I hate wearing hats. And the pressure sometimes gives me a headache. I prefer to show off my sly side. But with the weather extremes here in Ohio, got to wear one sometimes. I prefer a ball cap, but I have a flatcap when I need to dress up in the winter.

samething here challengeme..

I used to have a bicycle racing cap. home made.. took the original one took it apart and a lady we knew took the pattern and made some with the material we wanted..

Now I'm going to be purchasing a new one.. to do the same thing. they fit comf. on the head.

I dunno where I put the others.. so need to start over again.

B.Rob's wrath notwithstanding....I'm with cs1solo and the cap.   You can spin'm around sideways or backwards to look like a beret.

Got me a nice one by Ralph Lauren/Polo.  Keeps the noggin very warm when needed.

Rob; I think you bear a certain resemblance to Rob Reiner w/o the shades and with hat.  Cool look .

I saw some posts that said the hats gave the wearer a headache.  Thats almost always a sign the hat is too tight or was not fitted or blocked properly.  Coming from the military and law enforcement I simply cannot stress the importance of wearing head protection  that shades your ears, nose, cheeksn and back of neck from the constant sun.

Some of us are at odds with our dept chief for not allowing us to wear a western hat with our uniforms.  we currently have the traditional police service(saucer) cap and it has small bill and does not shade the ears, nose and neck.  I tell you, "Suck" is too kind of a word to describe it when the heat goes to 110 and you are working a major traffic accident on the Interstate without a decent hat.  Anyway, the boss doesnt want us to look like TX state patrol or sheriff deputies who wear western hats...  I don.t know why buts disappointing to say the least

Anyway, point was is there is nothing like a hat that fits properly. I use to sell and shape hats and there is a degree of skill involved in the process.
