I'll keep the little guy in my prayers also.
Sounds like a lot of what I went through when I was his age. I turned out Ok, so I'm sure he'll be much better off than I am.
Define "OK" Tyler.
haha j/k
Notice I didn't use the word "good?" LOL!!!

Lance: First off, I know it's easier to say everything will be all right when it is someone else's child other than yours so I will refrain. However, a good friend of mine's son had the hydrocele condition. It truly was easily correctable and he made a full recover.
Hang tough my friend - I will say a prayer for him.

lemme just say that I had a similar thang when I was born.....'cept the diverted fluid went to my navel....

Thanks for everyone taking time to give kind words. I have since learned from a lot of people that this is a very common surgery and is very simple just as most of you have said. So I've calmed down a lot and I am not as worried as before. The only thing that really bothers the wife and I is putting him under. There's always that slim chance that people won't wake back up but I'm going to think positive about that and try not to let it bother me. I remember my mom use to constantly say, "You'll understand why I worry so much when you have kids of your own." I use to blow that statement off all the time. Now I see exactly what she was talking about and feel like an idiot for taking it so lightly.

You wouldn't be the good & loving parents that you so obviously are if you didn't worry a little bit about any medical procedure for your son however small the risk of something actually going wrong - it's only natural
The doctors are pretty good at what they do these days though & I am sure that everything will go just fine.
Have you been given a date for the procedure to be carried out yet?
We'll be routing for you & your little boy.

Hey my sly bro, thanks for being concerned and asking. Yes, as a matter of fact the date is tomorrow the 25th. We're supposed to show up around 8am and I think it's supposed to take them about 1 to 2 hours for prep from what they've said. It's at our local CHKD in Newport News. Thank God they built this one around the corner from me. The only one they had before they built this one about 2 years ago or so was the one in Norfolk. Which isn't too bad a drive for me if I only had to take him a few times but we've been back and forth to CHKD about 10 times since he's been born. But the surgery will be at the one here around the corner from me. Anyway, thanks again for asking and I'll definitely post up and let ya'll know how it goes.

Thanks for everyone's kind words to make me worry less. Just wanted ya'll all to know everything went well and the little one is back home with us. He's doing a lot of sleeping which is to be expected. The whole thing in the door and out only took about an hour and a half. All the people at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters are awesome. I mean everyone too. Not just the doctors but the whole staff. They really treat your children like they are their own. Couldn't of had a more better experience. The little guy was very upset when he came out of surgery but he's actually wanting to walk around here at home. We're having to keep a close eye on him so that he doesn't get too wild.
