I hear ya guys. I'm always thinking that same thing to myself, "Why haven't they shaved their head yet?"
It used to be that completely shaved heads were the exception rather than the rule. Fortunately, this all started to change in the past 10 years or so, to the point where the sly look is very mainstream, and is in fact, pretty much the default haircut for those with MPB. An example of the reversal in my thinking as a result of this welcome trend:This past week I ran into a former colleague of mine. Hadn't seen him in about a year. He is a couple of years younger than me and has been completely MPB ever since I've known him. I still had most of my hair when we first started working together. When I saw him the other day, he looked the same as he always has -- MPB fringe buzzed to about a #1 (which makes him look older than he really is). My first thought upon seeing him was, "Why hasn't he shaved off that fringe yet?"A few years ago, seeing an MPB guy with a shaved head was still somewhat a novelty. Now seeing an MPB guy who doesn't shave his head seems unusual. The tables have turned and the question is no longer, "Why did you shave your head?" but "Why haven't you shaved your head?"Sly rules ...
I love the "sly", but I will be honest, I wish sometimes that it wasn't as mainstream...its like when you were a kid and were the only one on the block with a new bike...aaaaahhhhhh the admiration But then again, would have never had the opportunity to be on this site and meet some cool bald band of brothas
Nice observation...I think it totally drives me nuts when it's on a younger dude (ususally has a small island in the front)....doesn't happen much...but it does pop up every now and then...
definetly have to agree with that, everytime i see someone that hasnt shaved the horseshoe, i want to preach the sly book to them but most of the time i don't because i hate someone preaching to me and telling me what i should do lol
