it went quite well
« on: February 01, 2013, 05:56:37 AM »
as some of you know from here http://www2.slybaldguys.com/smf/index.php?topic=19609.0 I went out yesterday with some of my closest friends who all haven't seen me bald yet

all in all it went quite good, two girls said that I have the right head for baldness and one said "there are also girls who have bald boyfriends" she was a little drunk, the boys said almost nothing, one friend said it looks nice and one asked me "what's wrong with you" :D

so all in all there were more positive reactions, quite a view who didn't care and one shocked person  :)

yes, I think I feel already more confident - because I'm not constantly thinking about my looks anymore or if people will notice that I am balding - it feels already as I can accept myself better now and am not sad or depressed because of a bad hair day.

when I didn't feel attractive with hair I always had a stress - the stress of false hopes - like when you say to yourself "you'll see, with another haircut you might look and feel better" or something like that - but you never knew for sure and that was a stress - now I'm accepting how I am and can stop worrying about things like not looking good today but hopefully this will change soon - those this make any sense?

Glad it went well! Just remember, if you act like it's just another haircut, it won't even matter to you-or anyone else.

Makes total sense. You will be more confident over time. I posted earlier in the week that I had let my hair grow for three days as I had been ill and the day I worked with three days growth I felt less confident as I was convinced people could see my hair loss, yet with no hair I feel confident|!

I think it's a good look for you Markus and the statistics say the same.
With any haircut one can't please everybody so I would say that your friends liked your new look more than expected.

"...the boys said almost nothing, one friend said it looks nice and one asked me "what's wrong with you"

Keep in mind that you have a couple things going on here with the other guys: 1. Testosterone and youth- another Alpha male isn't going to say good things about you, because you are now better looking and are a threat to his position with his female as well as his status so he will say nothing or not much. 2. The "what's wrong with you" comment came from a guy who either has a full head of hair and does not understand the reasons for sly-dom, or he may also feel threatened and reacts negatively.
All I can add is congratulations on making your move to the sly world and "damn, you rock the sly look"!

I've said it before, you look great - good facial features.

I still sense your reluctance to believe it's true ... it will come around for you. That's when you will really feel confidence settle in permanently. Right now it's just teasing you!

so, my mother saw it, the one person I thought would never accept it - and although she needed time to get used to it she now thinks it looks good - although she said maybe I would like it to grow just a little - 3 to 5 mm - because she thinks from the front it looks good - but from the back of my head it looks like the head of a skinhead or as she said it looks too tough or savagely or maybe you know a better english word  :)

but it was quite a relief that she doesn't hate it - because I feared that it would make me insecure again
