I hope this post will also serve as a reminder (but particularly some of us more mature folk) to have an annual exam by a dermatologist.

So many things can be resolved through early detection, and the treatments today are often quick will few lasting marks.
Yes indeed, Mo also stated this and thanks FG it is a good reminder for a must.   O0

Hey Switch,

Like others here, I spent a lot of time in the sun when I was young.  I've had 4 surgeries on my face, 2 were Mohs procedures.  The largest excision was 3 inches long and over an inch wide when the cutting was finished (See pic).  Take a look at my avatar, the scar is hardily noticable.  You will do just fine.  Oh, and remember the sunblock from now on, OK?

A lot of guys on this forum are talking about getting their head tanned to reduce the visibility of the "shadow". I hope that they learn from these other older blokes getting things removed from their faces and scalps.

Forget about tanning -- wear a hat in the sun and lots of sunscreen if not.

Today is the day in 2 hours I will be on the table or in the chair, getting my nose job.  So with the week beard growth, and the face I should look like a beat up wino !  Thanks for all the support guys, off to see the Doc.

Thank you Lee, and thanks for the PM's and email's !  It went very well .  And it I am on the 6 month club, which all that have went to a dermatoglist and had any work done.  But I should not have much of a scar, and I am glad of that.  I will always use sunscreen from now on.  A person never thinks it will happen to them, until it does.  But glad to have it done, and thank you again !   O0
