My First Headblade Shave.

Ok my friends I have been shaving this past month or so with Schick Xtreme 3 disposable razors. Good, cheap and easy. Only going with the grain for speed and ease and because I prefer the finish. No problemo and I timed how long it was taking me -- 2 minutes and 50 seconds go to whoa and that is with having to shave around 2 difficult moles or nevi which will soon be removed I hope.



Today I took delivery of my new Headblade Sport imported direct from the Headblade Central HQ Undeground Bunkers. Even though it is late in the afternoon and I didn't need a shave I had to try it out to see if it could possibly be better or easier than the Schick xtreme 3. I had my doubts that anything could be easier but I was on the quest for shaving perfection.

All I can say is WOW. Once I had dropped it 3 times and learned a couple of things it was extremely quick and simple because the attack angle of the blades was controlled by the back wheels. I put almost no pressure on the blades and they sliced through what little hair there was with ease and more importantly I found that I could just "drive" it over the moles or nevi if I took extra special care not to apply pressure on the blades. I could feel the blades going over the top of the moles but not cutting them but when they came into contact with hair at the edges it cut it instead of skating over it.

Quite simply, this device is absolutely fantastic and is going to save me lots of time and make my shaving even more enjoyable than it has been -- and it's been a lot of fun.

I'm going to see how long I can make a cartridge last -- there is a bloke on youtube who reckons he can make a headblade cartridge last 5 or 6 months by honing it on old denim or his arm and dipping the blade daily in alcohol.

Full marks for American ingenuity -- not only can they make space shuttles and mars landers but also HeadBlades.

Although I'm experimenting with others, the HB Sport really is awesome. Glad you knew not to use any pressure up front though. With pressure it can quickly go from shaver to deadly weapon on ya

That's awesome Gary, I love my HB too. I have been using my hydro5 for the past week because I am out of HB cartridges, and I'm not getting as good a shave. So it's taking a bit longer as well. Still a good shave in the end, but yet to get a perfect one. Can't wait until I get new HB carts.

I have first hand experience at that, was doing something I knew I shouldn't have, and buried the razor in the side of my head... I was not going quickly, so I didn't potato peeler myself, but I still had a nice bleeder.

I am wondering at what point I am going to stop trying new stuff. The sport seems to be almost perfect for me and I've only used it once. I reckon that when the moles are removed I could shave it in less than 60 seconds [not that I'm in any hurry].

But that new bloke mention the "Rolling Razor" [ http://store.rollingrazor.com/ ] and the video looks pretty good -- still it just can't be better than the sport can it? Maybe I'll just stick with the sport I think.

Are you using HeadBlade cartridges and if so where are you getting them. Is it cheaper to get them from an Australian supplier or sent from he US or maybe elsewhere? Bet they would be cheap straight from the Chinese factory.

I think their stores are all over Oz.

I could never fing the blades so I went back to my Xtreme 3 and have been using that for years  - - -every three ot four days a new razor and I get a great shave  - - -Smooth - -wonderful - -What you see is what I get  -My noggin shines like glass and that is from cold water after I shave  - - - There is almost nothing on top  - - so it is always BALD  and SMOOTH

As far as the , statement you made of trying new items.  I don't think I ever will if I have a need for them , but not as anxious anymore LOL.  I have had the sport for sometime and use the HB triple, along with the Headslick in the shower .  At my age I am in no rush , so take my time and enjoy.  Still would like to get a mirror for the shower fog less.  Would also like to get many other fine items that members have.  If I had some of them I would be shaving all the time LOL .  Enjoy buddy .

That's much more user friendly, that's some headslick and a pack of blades. Turns out Headblade.com.au is $30 for free shipping or $8 flat rate if you spend less.

I think you'll save more if you go with Lynchy's suggestion if you aren't going to make the $30 for the AU HB free shipping, but it's always good to have options

Go to HeadBlade on line and get the ATX, it comes with a four blade razor on it and you can buy the four or six blade replacements. Very nice razor.

That sounds like a good option for later but I have just ordered from the US 2 packs of cartridges, another sport as a backup and 4 bucket [yes, four] hats. I figure that hats are now pretty important and they were heavily discounted although it hurts to spend about 30% of the total cost on postage. Still, I like the cap I got the other day.

I've tried the headblade many times, and for me it's just not as quick or easy as the Extreme III, and certainly no smoother, because that's just not possible!
