Hat question
« on: November 23, 2012, 03:18:38 PM »
Hey guys

I have never thought to ask, but have had this problem for many years.

Its getting cold here in the UK. On weekends to keep my head warm i wear a woolly hat, but during the week I wear a suit and suffer a cold head as i cant find anything to wear that will go with my work attire.

Come on guys, i know you will come through and save me from another winter of having a cold head.

Thank

yes ... cold causes head warmth concerns so I wear a beret.  If you feel classy for work, try an inexpensive Fedora.

I have a large collection of Ivy caps, many Kangol. I think they look great unless you need to be very very formal.

Try a kangol:

http://www.kangolstore.com/p/216950/Wool-504.aspx?c=1742

Have 2, also 1 light brown Baily wool, and Beret's , etc. depends on the time of year , how hard the wind is blowing, raining, snowing, etc..   ;) 8)  Unless it is really cold love the dome air , wind, gentle rain, light snow, makes me feel reborn.

Hey Dan,

My absolute favorite hat shop/brand here on the West Coast is Goorin Bros. http://www.goorin.com/  They don’t ship internationally, but I’m sure you can find a retailer that carries the brand. They have a ton of styles and the quality is excellent. You’ll definitely find something to go with your work attire. I highly recommend them to all my friends and clients. If you’re ever in the states try to visit a shop.

The Kangol never crossed my mind. I have an old one and will give it a try with my business attire.

I'm a sly lady and I LOVE a nice Fedora!  You have to have the personality to pull it off, however.  :)  Luckily, I do!  ;D  I also love my Buff's!  And in the summer I often wear a cowgirl hat.  During the winter I'll wear either the Fedora or a soldier's cap or something warm like a beanie.  Wish guys would wear top hats every now and then...that would be classy and fun!

Sadly fedoras look weird on my head so I don't think I can pull them off.  :(

I'm a mad knitter and have a variety of hats for every occasion -- a well-made beanie in conservative colors looks fine with my work attire.  Berets are always fun as are "heidi hats" (with the braids down the side).

Ex-husband swears by Kangol newsboy caps.   http://www.shoebuy.com/kangol-newsboy-caps.htm.  He buys them in 2 sizes depending on desired coverage for the weather (the larger size covers most of his head, while the smaller size is half for warmth, half for jauntiness).

I've been wearing flat caps from Duluth Trading for well over a year or so now. They make some nice hats.
