ALERT: Combovers along the Florida Gulf Coast should seek shelter and stock up on extra spray (note: stores are already selling out of "Extra Hold" products).
Or ... take immediate action and shave it all off. Supplies of blades and shave creams are readily available.
Replace the "storm surge" with a "surge of self-confidence."
Newest social trend? Replacing "hurricane parties" with "Shave It Sly Parties."
Slight (head)winds are picking up ...
or ball caps with velcro ! LOL
LMAO! I thought it was my ex-father in law also named Isaac coming back to get me because I divorced his daughter...
Isaac, is gonna pay a visit with Sir Harry.
Yes, positive thoughts now go to our LA brethren (and surrounding states).
Shows just how unpredictable these massive storms can be. On Friday our community was doling out sandbags and anticipating Isaac would tour the center of the state from Key West/Miami up through Orlando and further north. Quite different now.
And how different our lives and preparations are with satellites, radar and instant communications as I think back to the devastating storms of the 1960s and (though I wasn't here) one of the most disastrous in the 1930s.
Yes, all good wishes are focused on the Gulf coast of the southern states.
We are always fortunate when a storm passes us by. And when it no longer is part of the nightly news it passes from the public's mind. There have been some bad ones even before 2004...grandfather, told about one in 1922 that flooded Miami while he worked in the trolly car division of FPL...and of the 1928 storm that flooded the big lake and people were found tied to the tops of trees. We must appreciate our good fortunes, right?
Good thing I shaved my head this morning. Besides, I'm in Kentucky today. No storm here. But I'll be in Kansas tonight! Maybe well see the wizard of oz on Wednesday. That trip would do a number on a combover.
