Hey,
I was thinking the other day (ouch!)

...
Do you think women ever look at a bald guy and think
"oh no no no no no no... I want my babies to have full heads of hair as they grow up" and then no matter how funny, handsome, fit or confident you are will never be attracted to you?

If you think there are women that think this... do you think its shallow?
Im interested in your opinions and whether or not you've thought about this before (whether women think this way... not whether you want your kids with full heads of hair!!)

I think there probably is women out there that think that way, and yes they are shallow. However I don't think that there is any evidence that just because the mother and fauther, have a full head if hair, that their babies will be born with a full head of hair also.

Definately, there is...
but would you want to give someone so narrow minded, the time of day? There are millions of open minded cool thinkn' girls/ women out there...life is way too short...I only know I would only want to be with someone that "gets" that i like/ want a bald head (I'm BBC)...if they don't get it....move on...
cute girls dig bald headed dudes....you WANT those types...your life will be better...
just like when you choose to be a bald , sly dude!

First off, if they see a guy with a shaved head and think their baby will never have hair, then that's just plain stupidity.
But, there are women that see a guy with a balding head and think they don't want that, but I'm not sure it's because they're afraid that their children will be bald.

What I meant is that I'm sure there are women who go around looking for tall dark and handsome guys, not just because of her desires... but also wants to have the greater chance of having tall, dark and handsome children.
Now if thats true, then surely those same women see a balding guy and think "I don't want my children to have those genes"
But like you said... those that do simply are not worth bothering about!

Well, to add to the argument of stupidity...here's one that has come up often, people that have known me for years will all of a sudden (when the conversation is about my bald head, which is a rarity)...notice my hairline by my shadow and say "Hey, you've got a full head of hair!"...
I say yea, but i like being bald....then you can see them working it through their heads as to "why"...then I get a couple questions, ect...
but it was like they understood, when they thought i was balding...then once they realized i wasn't, they couldn't get their heads around it!
So I can see where people assume all bald guys will possibly have children that will be balding also someday...some people are real stupid!

Hi Baldan..
from a woman's point of view, I've
never ever had the misfortune to meet a woman who has said she wanted to have someones babies because of how someone looks.

(and in case you didn't know, us girls tend to talk...)
I'm a little lost on this post to be honest...
At the end of the day, subconciously or otherwise both women and men are attracted to the opposite/same sex through physical attraction..it's mother nature, whether it's their eyes, smile or a blonde barnet.. so does that make us all shallow?

Do such women exist? Likely
Is it Shallow? Yes
Is it any different than a man wanting to date a woman that only had ____________ (fill in attribute...huge boobs, blonde hair, etc.)? Nope.
Shallowness runs on both sides of the gender aisle.

Fully agree with you schro on that both genders can be shallow.
HOWEVER... Im not sure this answers my question...
For example I can say that in general I am more attracted to brunettes... but that doesn't mean if I meet a blonde girl I immediately put a barrier up because I want my children to be brunettes (because I know blonde girls can be stunning too!)
I just wondered whether there are women in the world (I only refer to women because I am a man looking for a woman...not that they are more shallow than us!) that would immediately put a barrier up because as Tyler once stated in an article he wrote for Helium.com that due to media etc... baldness and balding men are looked upon as if they are "uglier" or more "unfortunate" than those with a full head of hair.
So ok, let me slightly re-phrase the question... do you believe there maybe some women out there who have been ,if you like, "brainwashed" by the media to think that baldness is bad and hair is good and therefore SUBCONSCIOUSLY put a barrier up when we guys approach them and SUBCONSCIOUSLY think to themselves that they want their children to grow up with GOOD hair instead of having the chance of balding early ("BAD")?
I hope Im making more sence and not confusing you all further!!!

I hate when I write something and it comes back to haunt me.

Just kidding!

I think the answer to your question is yes, some womens preconceived notions are to initially think that a bald guy may not be what they're attracted to and throw up a barrier. But again, I don't think this would have anything to do with future kids. More of a, "what would my friends think?" type question.

I think the more important question is How do
YOU feel about YOURSELF? If
you are good with
you, and
you like
you, than
you should have no problem introducing
you to gals that want to be with
you for
you.
You understand?
Class dismissed!

Baldan, I wouldn't worry about any of this. You're a young, good looking guy. I'm sure you'll attract your fair share of women. The good thing is that you'll know if there's a real attraction, it's because of who you are and not what is or is not on the top of your head. Hey, isn't MagmaBabe from across the pond too. Maybe she can set you up... just kidding MB.
