Any Black Friday horror stories?

Normally I avoid black friday like the black plague. This year I made an exception.
The week before my closest lady friend's mother had a severe heart attack. All of her family and most of her friends crapped on her in her time of need. She is such a selfless person, always doing stuff for others first. All week long I offered assistance in any way I could and she kept politely refusing. Finally we were talking about the holidays and she mentioned how much her Momma has always wanted one of those Kitchenaid mixers, but her sibs were supposed to be pitchen in to get her one and kept coming up with excuses why they didn't have the money. I went online and found one sixty bucks off on wally worlds black friday sale. unfortunately she had no one to stay with her mom so that she could go get it.
So I camped out at wal mart for five hours and walked out right before all the idiots showed up with the mixer. She missed almost 2 weeks of work while her momma was in the ICU so I knew she was hurting, so to sweeten things alittle I told her that repayment wasn't necessary. I told her to still get the cash from her sibs and use it to get caught up.She is by far the most caring person I know and I felt that she deserved a break.
This year went pretty smooth.anybody got any funny shopping tales from this year?

Cool thing you did for your friend. I'm sure she appreciated your act of kindness even more than she did the mixer.
I stay away from Black Friday sales. The last time I went several years ago, there were people literally fighting over laptops and TVs in WalMart. It's just not worth it to me. I did have a friend who arrived at WalMart at 3:30 am for their 5:00 opening. He got the TV he wanted. Said some folks had camped out all night.

One awesome ARK Freak--that one will keep your heart warm for the Season.
Mine best Black Friday was sort of selfish. We needed a wreath to finish off the trim on the front gallery of the house. So, I checked Lowe's yesterday, they only had white lights and our garland is multicolor. So stopped at Home Depot after the gym this morning--there it was $19, marked down from $29.95! Snapped it up, but it came up $29.95 at the register--back to the display, confirmed it, got the manager--who said, "Oh that was the Black Friday price." I'm expecting that I'm about to get pissed when she says, "Tell them to give you the Black Friday price!" So get my extra cash back, and I'm on the way to the car--happy--what can I say, I'm cheap.

Put the stuff in the car, and there's a guy with a whale of a new grill in a box, looking around--asked him if he needed a hand lifting the new thing into his truck--he got a big smile. In the truck, get in my car, one great day, good workout, good buy and a great feeling doing something to help another guy.

Been arguing with her a lil, she keeps sayin she'll have to think about it n that she wasn't sure if she could accept that much. So I told her I did it for her mom, she already took it, and if I didn't accept repayment then she didn't really have a choice.
Then she goes on to say crap like "I don't deserve someone like you in my life" I hate it when gals start doing that.

Sounds like she could be a keeper

Also, a Kitchenaid mixer is the standard, and w/ the attachments you can literally do everything from grinding wheat to flour, mix bread dough, or roll out fresh pasta. They're awesome machines, last forever--ours is over 30 years old, my Dad bought it for us on our first Christmas as H&W.

Tell her shed DOES deserve someone that cares in her life. That she's a great person that deserves good things to happen for them.

Dan, that was a great thing you did! The only shopping I did was at truck stop while I stopped for gas. There weren't any lines...

After working as a truck stop supervisor for a couple years you'd be surprised what stuff you can find in one and how many people do thier last minute shopping there....I know she's a keeper, she's the first gal to ever make me really try and take things slow n do things the right way. Every other woman has either shot me down right away or totally threw themselves at me. I still don't know which way things are gonna go, but I know I'll have a close friend in her either way. I'll have my hands full trying to convince her that she does deserve better than what she had before. My kids totally falling for her too, I've got alot of female friends, but he latched on to her from day one.

Cool story. Mine also involves Walmart. I live maybe 5 blocks from Walmart and saw the ad for the cameras they would have, I needed a new one since the last one got swallowed by my duck pool. It was the 12 megapixel kodak for $69 so I had to get it. I planned out my whole couple days around it. Thanksgiving night I went to bed at 7 to get up in time, I decided to snooze til 4:30 since it takes like 10 minutes to walk there. As I got closer I passed the school and library which had packed parking lots then passed the safeway which also had a full lot, all of the cars of course going to Walmart.
I got there before 5 to a store filled with people! It turned out they had been open for way longer because they didnt want the crazy rush, people just couldnt check out until 5. So I started my search for the camera. I finally found where it was supposed to be and saw what looked like an empty case but there was 1 left. I went t grab it when a soccer mom was reaching for it. I looked at her cart and she had 4 other cameras of the same kind in the cart already and was being greedy and going for a 5th. I had it in my hands! She glared at me and for a sec I thought she might tackle me for it but I glared right back and smirked and quickly walked off. I then grabbed some socks and went to check out but couldnt, all the lines had an easy 100 people each. I waited in line for about 20 minutes before I checked out. I was safe and out the door. Then I got the camera home only to remember that I didnt have a spare memory card so I had to go back and got one. That is my story
