Just out of hospital and a man in the next bed had an enormous beard about 30 cm in length and wild hair - initiallly I though he was a woman lol. Felt quite jealous. However he wasn't sly.

Hope all is well nuts! How do you mistake a guy with a 30cm beard for a woman? haha! Must have been the painkillers lol!

Thanks guys, have only been trimming slightly with scissors so it is filling out quite well....not going to trim other than with scissors. It might be finally the time I go for the epic beard, have been tempted but scared to commit.....

Time for an update!
I think things are slowing down because I don't see much difference between photos, but I was able to measure some length at 19" which is still keeping pace with that average 1/2" per month you often hear people mention. I estimate the age of the goatee as being a few months shy of 3 years.
For S&G I decided to braid it up. The braid itself was 15" long:
I thought I almost ruined it a few hours before these photos. I was in front of my bathroom mirror using my heat gun on something I was painting, and for a couple seconds I forgot what I was doing and decided to use the "hair drier" to see my beard blow in the exhaust since my sides had been getting kinda long. I whipped it up and immediately smelled something burning and my brain immediately kicked back in and told my arm "That is a heat gun not a hair drier dumbass!" I had the goatee bound up but that only had me more worried because I was afraid the heat went right onto the bound up hair. I never did figure out exactly what had burned and thankfully I didn't see any damage. I'm guessing that maybe one or two long hairs on the side hit the end of the heat gun and burned.

Looking good Brother! Everytime I see your beard I am amazed with the length, and it makes me want to keep mine growing that little bit longer... haha little bit...
That heat gun story... that is a huge brain fart! I hopefully you are more careful next time

Only about 2 minutes or so. I think when you do it you're supposed to be really careful to keep the shorter hairs from sticking out wildly but I was just screwing around so I wasn't being too careful.
