being bald is SO FRIGGIN AWESOME!

I am inclined to agree.

Been bald now for nearly six months. Started off with the 30 day trial. Later realised that I was going past the point of no return and that I could always be bald. Guess going past the point of no return was a bit deal.

When I look in the mirror, just see me and my growing beard.

If I skip a day shaving and look in the mirror, I do notice unsightly stubble on my head.

Don't think I have the nerve to grow my hair. And it's just not in my vocabulary. It's as if I have always been bald.

Perhaps many of us look in the mirror more often than when we were not Sly, as being bald is SO FRIGGIN AWESOME!

Agreed!
Hair is over rated.

Yea the mirror was shocking the hell out of me but now I Im starting to like my new found freedom
I see a guy who came to his senses and realize that, ...I am the bald guy. Who and What does he stand for?
The reflection in the mirror is a check with reality.  I have been running  from it for
 oh so many years.

Now Im FREE!          Like being reborn.
A second  chance to prove myself.

Frankly i see my BDD -sometimes i have better days and sometimes worse days then the other but head shaving is MY choice and with this choice i am satisfied, you guys have helped me a lot now i just have to work out that minor for me gross cheek asymmetry issue, well today was one of- well more depressing days but then took the razor and shaved my head and i am letting my goatee beard to grow and i am feeling better honestly  8)  -that reminds me on one Nirvana song "Lithium" somehow....
It wasn't my intention to depress anybody just to show my appreciation for your support !

@ Free at Last, you have developed a super positive, self accepting attitude since taking the leap.  It is so awesome to see.  Sly really does suit you by the way!

@ Wonderer, give it time, get over any stupid reactions people may pass, and keep watching as it just gets better.

Yeah, what waine said.

I think it is so important to take a moment to recognize that each of us has taken control of hair issues rather than letting hair issues control us. That is such a HUGE fundamental shift which can impact our lives in so many ways.

Hey, wonderer......If you don't want to put an avatar photo, that's cool, we still enjoy your posts....but if you feel a little comfortable, how about posting a couple of photos attached to a post....We promise it's not as bad as you think....No pressure, if you're not comfortable we understand! (I just like to put a face with a name, even if they're wearing sunglasses covering their eyes)

P.S. Not to be harassing, but if it comes across as such, I apologize.

Thanks Kalbo I will ,I know that life isn't kind as we would like ,but then if we don't fight, we cannot enjoy after when we achieve victory one thing is sure many things in life we take for granted( like our loved ones) and we are wrong-  when we learn to appreciate what we have but still fight for a better and find inner peace with our self then even the sky isn' the limit for us we and only must take a right tempo for us and right way -this is something i learned in life surrender is never an option life is too short anyways  ;) !

I look in the mirror every day and remind myself that going Sly is one of the best things I ever did for myself.

It is amazing how much positive re enforcement you can implement in front of a mirror, without being vain.

Great topic Waine!! I completely agree-seeking positive reinforcement in front of the mirror is not vain at all. I will admit I do indeed catch glances of myself in the mirror much more these days. As someone who has struggled with depression, weight and self esteem issues I feel empowered to now be able to look and be proud of what I see. I'm even more proud that I shook of the shackles of what people think I should look like and embraced what I wanted to look like which was bald as I was over having hair. I see a sharp looking confident bald man and am proud!
