Have it clipped to a #0 (no guard at all) and you'll have a much easier time of it.
I already owned clippers, had been doing my own hair for years. Definitely take it down without guard, take a shower and wash your head well then lather up and shave it. GO SLOW, since your scalp is not used to it, then rinse with cold water. There is a big difference between clipped w/o guard and shaved. Hope this helped, Good Luck
I think every man who enjoys self grooming and changing their appearance by way of facial hair on or off, or just to control hair growth in general, should invest in a pair of clippers like the "Wahl".
It must definitely be cropped short with the clippers to a number 0 before you go sly as correctly stated here. Even with it so short, you may still pick up a few nicks and gashes with the first shave. My first head shave was a blood bath. I cannot imagine shaving bald with a number 1 crop.I think every man who enjoys self grooming and changing their appearance by way of facial hair on or off, or just to control hair growth in general, should invest in a pair of clippers like the "Wahl". This gives you the option of experimenting with your hair length. Perhaps you may want to have a number 0, or number 1 look, you may want to trim a beard or moustache. The hair clippers always come in useful. I have been cutting men’s (and boys) hair on the side (as a hobby) for about 28 years now, a skill a learned at boarding school. Therefore, my Wahl owes me nothing. It is still going strong – a reliable little piece of machinery.
