Too late, too stupid, but need advice
«

Over the weekend, I did some yard work and burnt the snot out of my head. I used sunscreen but did not don a hat.
Now, two days later, I have some yellow drainage from several pores on my scalp and toward the back of my head I have veins on either side that have turned red and trail down the back of my head.
Should I be concerned about infection?

I'm no expert, but I believe that deserves a call to your doctor, or a dermatologist. To settle your fears, if nothing else.

Yup -- with symptoms like that, it's time to let a professional have a look.

Sorry about that man!!! Brother don't waste time, go and see dermatologist as soon as possible... On the lighter side, take what happened as a learning experience.

Sorry to hear mate!
I have unfortunatly done this many times on my shoulders, back etc!
If your worried about infection I would get to a GP or Pharmacist ASAP!

Hopefully you've already had some medical attention. I hope all is well.

Thanks guys -
Yes, I couldn't get into my doc that day so I went to Urgent Care.
First thing that doctor said was, "Good call." His notes to me: (not a pleasant description)
1. Clear fluid from a sunburn like this is normal seepage from blisters. Yellow fluid is indicative of infection.
2. The red streaks were a dead giveaway for the infection.
Together, they mean seek medical attention. It turns out it was staff infection and he said it was a result of the severe sunburn.
With what he gave me, everything cleared up rather quickly. It's all going to be fine. But... lesson learned.
Thanks again for all the advice.
