Many people don't like to wear hats and just rely on sun screen. As a person who had Melanoma removed from my ear I won't go out in the sun without a wide brim hat.Never thought I would get it but time and exposure takes it's toll." To be forwarned is to be forearmed".

I find myself trying to tan my head as I am battling to digest the overly white head, even after 35 days. (Yes I am counting!)

The winter sun is still fairly strong here in the sub tropical area where I live, so I have been spending brief, careful moments under its powerful UV rays during lunch breaks. But It doesn't seem to be working.  Now I am on leave for a few days, so I spend even more time tanning with no SPF.  I know its a risk, but its one I am willing to take in an attempt to get my pip the same colour as my face.

Man, my scalp is stil so white, it looks a white greenish colour under the drab office lights. There is nothing like sitting in the balmy sun, body oil on the skin, reading and getting a golden tan, in the middle of winter!!!

Today I got slightly red, hoping to have a bronze pate by the time I return to work next week.

Very risky, but care is the key!
