I'm going to sound like a jerk here, but honestly, this is all complete nonsense. How many people need to tell you you look great for you to understand, you look great! This is the internet, there is no reason to lie or hold back, if you looked like garbage, you would have been told so by now. Think about it this way, there are some things we can control, and some things we cant. You will never be able to control the (completely normal, and fine looking) shape of your head. It will always look this way, so why spend so much time feeling crappy about it. Especially when countless people say you look just fine! Plus, feeling crappy, bitter, angry, sad, etc.. is no fun at all. Accept things for how they are, and start focusing on the rad person you know you can be.

For what it's worth, I add to the chorus.  You look just fine; handsome, in fact.

I came to terms with the way I look head on but am freaking out about the way I look from other angles, particularly the side. People see you in 3D. I hate balding and now I hate the future. Flat head.

You can see the problem here:

Frankly not sure why you are  worried about  it  you have a perfect head  and will look amaazing  sly if that is what  you want when you say  you hate balding , the loss of hair  for guys that dont ahve a choice you have my sympathy  . I choose to be  bald and  would not have it any other way

It's demonstrated the fact that someone sees a bad thing about himself like 5 times  rougher than it actually is

I was talking to someone today and they just felt the need to tell me all the great things they and others see in me. It made me feel good but made me realize that to me I've lost a sense of self.

I was talking to someone today and they just felt the need to tell me all the great things they and others see in me. It made me feel good but made me realize that to me I've lost a sense of self. I'm wired to think that looking a certain way erased how others perceive me as a man. I have become so focused on this that I forgot who I was especially when the confidence got replaced by an equally strong insecurity. If anyone has experienced something similar it is difficult and hard to break the negative pattern. Certain things trigger emotional responses and reactions. For example, a photo of my profile this weekend had me going  :/O :/O :/O :/O :/O :/O

One approach could be re-training the way you think. Look for things to go right, not for things to go wrong.

When someone compliments you on your sly look: keep it in your head. Ignore comments the negative comments.

As I said earlier, we all see things in the mirror that we don't like.  I've got a horizontal crease running along the back of my head that I really wish wasn't there:

Why not? looks good in my opinion

I can't add anything that hasn't been already said. There is absolutely nothing at all wrong with your head. Nothing. At all.

Stop obsessing over nothing and start living.

So, we're not the only ones who don't see anything at all wrong!  Talk this out with your therapist--you've got too much living to do for this issue to dominate your thinking, do all that's necessary to root it out and get on with living.
