I consider my weekly appointment with my regular barber a highpoint in my workweek.  The 1 hour head scraping and massage relaxes me. If only I can afford to do it daily...tsk tsk tsk.

Really want a barber to shave my head. Keen to have the experience of a straight razor so I can compare the smoothness with my own regular morning shave. Wonder if there's anywhere around north London...

Well, I guess shaving my head takes away stress because it makes me focus on my head.
I like to shave my head in my own private bathroom, though. I don't know why, but to me it feels like grooming any other body part: I don't need other people to see me getting rid of my body hair, that's a little too close and personal for me.

But I guess if someone would ask me if they could watch me while I shave my head (for God knows whatever reason, maybe it's fascinating to other people), I'd allow them, but I'd feel very awkward.

I live alone (for now) so that's not much of an issue for me, but when I was deployed overseas, I would try to shave my head when the bathroom trailer was empty, but if someone walked in on me, it didn't phase me....just don't come in with comments such as "oh you missed a spot" or "let me catch that for you". Even on the rare occasions I go to the barber, it doesn't bother me because my rule for anyone with a comment is "When you pay for my haircut, I'll get it cut the way you want it". But not everyone wants their head shave to be a "public" moment and I respect that completely...but I am always proud to show the end result. On a side note the stitches came out yesterday and my MPB is showing big time, but the razor will be coming out shortly.

Ro, one of my favorite off-duty activities was doing the Ziggurat tour (birthplace of Abraham) Still have some photos on the hard drive of my computer. Ah BIAP....Nice place until you have to go through there for deployment/leave, etc. The bases in Kuwait where we stayed were pretty decent.....Spent some time in Mosul, Camp Stryker, Scania and Taji as part of patrols and convoy security missions....I'm sure I will have a greater appreciation for this as time goes by...BTW, Ro are you in the Air Force by chance?

Sir Harry, you got withdrawal symptoms!

I don't know about getting headaches if I don't shave, personally I think it was an un related condition, but I am not qualified to give an opinion.

I shave every day during the week, on weekends I may skip a day.  I look forward to lubing up and taking the Headblade for a drive on my scalp every week night.   I love using the myrid of different shaving stuff out here and the pampering aspect brings me pleasure - big time.   Perhaps I am still enjoying the "novelty" in the infant stages of slyness.  My brother has been sly for eight years and he still loves shaving (with the HB) to this day.
