I have a shallow skin colored mole on the back of my head. It's hard to notice but thing is, I seem to enjoy running it over with the razor no matter how careful I am. At this point it of course becomes very noticeable. Did a web search and came across bunches of pages telling how you can remove a mole naturally with acidic juices, like citrus acid in pineapple juice. Has anyone tried this, does it work?
The citric acid in combination with sunlight will probably lighten the colour of the mole (it also does that to skin and hair), but I doubt it can remove the actual mole. It'll probably have to be removed surgically if you want it gone.
Moles, all moles, are the proper object of a medical exam. The doctor may see things you can't see and your wife can evaluate properly. Take it from a guy who has skin cancers removed almost yearly, every mole deserves medical evaluation to determine if it is cancerous or precancerous. The vast majority aren't a problem and the overwhelming majority of those that are problematical have a 99.9% cure rate if caught early. The treatment is really nothing to be worried about. However, that being said, last year we buried a friend who had ignored a basal cell cancer on his forearm for years, absolutely curable until you let it go--by the time he went to get it treated it had spread to his lymph system and elsewhere. There's just no reason. Even the very dangerous melanoma is very curable, if caught early. Get to a doctor, use the citrus juice for summer beverages!
Good advice saintc , never ignore suspicious looking lesions get a medic too look at them
I've had many moles/skin tabs removed over the years. It's no big deal. The work part is the prick and sting of the first shot of lido-cane. After that, nothing to it. Generally does not leave a scar either.
Shortly after my first shave I had moles burned off. No big deal, and worth the bit of discomfort.
I had this huge mole near my temple which bugged me for years, but more so without hair, and also some flatish blotchy moles removed. Well worth it. I need some more work done though. Moles put me off big time.
Cancer tests proved negative, thanks to my Creator!
I will never have then frozen off, not a damn! I guess the mole battle is going to be a part of the sly ride, but lemon juice? hey I will give it a bash if it makes stubborn moles lighter. As pointed out, it used to lighten my hair as a teenager. Perhaps it may do the same for these ugly growths.
Other than that I would not fiddle with moles too much. Let the doc do the work with the needle and lazer. (Smells like burned pork.)
