Today I was at Panda Express for lunch. There were 3 Sly border patrol officers that came in, we did the typical smile/nod that most of us Sly guys do. One of them was standing in line and turned to me (I was at a table next to the line) and said "Slick hairstyle buddy", I said "We must have the same barber!" and we all kinda chuckled. Then as they were leaving, one of them walked over and just shook my hand. I don't know if it was because he thought I was someone else or what but it was still pretty awesome.

I like to give other bald guys compliments and I get mixed responses. Most of them are in the positive.

Normally this greeting works for me... I WILL RUB MY HEAD IN FRONT OF THE GUY AND WILL SAY "WE BOTH HAVE NICE HEADS!!! LET US CONTINUE TO SHINE"... so far all i greeted laugh and we shaked our hands... I think we sly bald guys are inherently friendly and yet dignified O0

I like this thankswill try it

I have had this kind of acknowledgement from some SLY Guys here in Scotland. It's like a kind of - "I know what you feel about the SLY look, bud!"

I had one bald-by-choice guy say to me once that it should be the standard "haircut" for all guys from teenage years & up. Wasn't sure how to respond to that, though.

That is fantasy , i remember hearing such nonsrnse when I was a teenager , the kinda of claptrap about how young people should go in the army at the age of 17 , bring back the birch etc , all innate twaddle

Joe, if we ever meet, I expect you to say something about my bald head.  In fact, I'd expect a head rub in lieu of a handshake.

(I know the head rub if not for a stranger ... but it's a nice recognition of another bald head from a friend).

Depends on the situation and sly person.  I usually break it up by running my hand over the top and saying "started this style at birth, gave it up for a while, now back to it again..."

I usually make a random haircut joke if I have the opportunity to speak to another sly. Works well most of the time.  O0
It's definitely a type of brotherhood for those who take it as a serious lifestyle choice, for sure.

An excellent ice breaker.

Had a hat on today and a guy came up to me and said "What is under the hat?" and my reply was "full head of black curley hair" and then I took my hat off and said: "same as you"  - - -He was a young guy who had just shaved his head after years of struggling with MPB  - - -He sat with me for a while and discussed shaving  - - - -He had seen me many times before but was not ready to talk. It was just the right time today.
