Saw the "Croc store" in the middle of the mall yesterday.  Circled it and just couldn't see anything I would like.

For all that have read or commented in this thread.....

You'll notice that my original comments had "smileys" after them. This indicates a little "tongue in cheek" going on..... much the same as putting "LOL!" after a comment. In addition, anyone that has been around the Forum for any length of time knows that comments like that are my way of poking fun and delivered with no harm intended.
Responding to those kind of comments with any personal attack wasn't really necessary, thus my agitated, and non smiley, responses.

I will apologize to Tom, the OP, for my initial comments because I inadvertantly wound up steering this thread in the wrong direction.
My apologies Tom.

I'm going to suggest that this thread return to what was originally asked by Tom.

As i read it it said"Do any of you guys wear crocs shoes and if so how do like them"

Nobody who doesn't wear crocs or hasn't tried them shouldn't have answered.
what non-wears think of them or their opinion of them wasn't asked for.

Yep, that's what I was driving at.

Do any of you guys wear Crocs shoes and if so, how do you like them...?

hey tom:  no.. i don't wear them because i think they R the "ugliest" footwear ever (male or female).  of course that is my humble opinion but if U like it that is all that matters.

WARHAWK O0

I do agree they are not attractive footwear, but about 30% of my friends (some of who wear crocs while telling me) say I have the ugliest shoes on the planet. YEP, VIBRAMS FIVE FINGERS!!!!

In the 110+ AZ summers I am in Birkenstocks, in the winter (starts soon I hope) I wear my Vibrams 5 fingers, yep some think they are ugly but I can NEVER go out without at last one person stopping me and asking about them. They are designed for running and my pastor and best friend clued me onto them, he runs marathons in them. For me they prevent me from shuffling my feet when I am able to walk it tones my muscles AND the thickest part of the soul is 3mm so I feel every pebble and crack. I simply LOVE LOVE LOVE them

Do you still think Croc's are uglier?  I do. 5 Fingers are just "unique".

P.S. I am glad to know I am not the only on here that wears them.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's the old rule that we apply to shaved heads, if they make you happy then that's all that counts.

I've got 2 pair of Crocs and wear them in the kitchen and when working in the shop and similar activities.  Not crazy about them when I'm doing alot of walking since the traditional style tends to slip on my feet.  But they are incredibly comfortable when standing on a hard surface.

Also, when they get cruddy they clean up very easily.  I agree they are ugly - but they're on my feet and if anyone is spending too much time looking at my footwear there are bigger problems going on...

So far as the "real men don't wear Crocs/eat quiche/etc"  nonsense - real men don't give a damn about peer pressure and they do whatever they damn well please (so long as it's legal...)

This thread has been informative if you do read it slowly word for word. It shows how we can easily mistake what was really meant by the way we express it. I don't think any of the postings were really meant to hurt others feelings but it wound up happening anyway.

The problem, IMO, is that we don't have the luxury of seeing people's facial expressions or body language or being able to hear their tone of voice. The internet giveth and the internet taketh away.

A friend of mine has a couple of pairs that he really likes. Unfortunately they aren't made big enough for my feet so I'm out of luck.

My preference has always been to just be barefoot. I just dont get why AMericans like shoes so much and hate to see people out barefoot.

This raises an interesting dilemma. I notice all the time, especially in restaurants, signs that indicate that if I'm not wearing shoes (and shirts) that I will not be served. Really? Do the proprieters actually believe that if I'm barefoot I'll be LESS CAREFUL about stepping in dog crap or human spit than I would be if I was wearing shoes?
Just sayin'. Cause I love my KSOs and I'm one of those people that would probably go barefoot, too.
What's next? No shirt, no shoes, no gloves, no service.
