I've been lurking for a while and really enjoying the posts, the excellent advice and the camaraderie and support on the board.
I've recently turned 70 and have been sly for over 7 years now and bearded for 45 years. My wife and two children have never seen me without a beard! Always had short hair and wanted to go sly for years but took until 2004 before I took the plunge. My wife didn't like it at first but now she wouldn't have it any other way; in fact recently didn't shave for a week and she said get rid of it. She would prefer a goatee to a full beard but only time will tell on that one.
I'm from Oz, retired from working for the government and have also been a travel writer for many years. During my travels have noted how common the sly look has become particularly in cities not so much in rural areas. On a recent trip to Europe there were large numbers of bald heads everywhere and it is very common in Australia now. Even top business executives are sly.
