HI Roger,

Welcome to sly bald guys.

You look great sly.

We took a tour to Australia and New Zealand in February, 2009 and truly loved it. It was a fast moving tour moving aeround about every 2 days which was tiring but we saw a lot. I was really tired when I got back home. It took awhile to absorb all that we saw. It was a great trip and I hope to be able to go again some day.

On the tour we flew from LA to Melbourne and then moved on to Adelaide, Alice SPrings and Ayres Rock, Cairnes and Point Douglas with a day out on the Great Barrier reef, then on to camp Tribulation for a couple of days and then Sydney. I liked the Cities on the Coast the best. From Sydney we flew to Christ Church, took a bus tour south and stayed at a hobby sheep farm overnight and then on to Queenstown. One of the high lights in New Aealand was seeing the Milford Sound which was awesome. We flew from Queenstown to Auckland on the North Island and then back to Los Angeles non stop. It was a fantastic trip. I wanted to share this with You. We rested up in LA for a couple of days before we came back home.  We were fortunate to miss 3.5 weeks of Winter here in Minnesota. We also missed outr on a big blizzard that happened here in Minnesota 2 days before we returned.

I had a good friend whose sister lives in Canberra. My friend passed away 3 years ago.

As they say in beautiful Australia:  G'Day.

I wish You the best now and always. Look forward to hearing from You.

Joe

Hi Joe

Thanks for the welcome to SBG.  I had read many of the posts before joining the board and found I related to many of the comments.  Now shaved for over 7 years I know what newbies go through wondering what others would think - but no one seemed to really notice.  My wife is now a convert although a bit diffident at first.  In fact I started to grow it back once just to see what was left but was quickly told to get ride of it.

I have been to Minnesota back in 1994.  I am a travel writer and have been to the US and Canada many times and in 1994 did a road trip down close to the Mississippi from Bemidji to St Louis.  Fascinating country especially the smaller towns along the river.  I was interviewed for a TV station in Dubuque, Iowa and three days later while in a small cabin going to the top of the arch/gateway in St Louis a girl of about 13 said "I saw you on TV the other night".  What a small world.

Glad you liked Australia.  It is huge like the US and so diverse and most people who visit find we are pretty laid back and friendly.

I was in Alaska and the Yukon last year and look forward to returning to the North America again.

Roger

Welcome Roger
