Sin City is SLY City!
« on: August 03, 2011, 07:53:25 AM »
I was in Las Vegas last week and I couldn't believe how many sly guys were around. Way more shaved heads than you normally see (and I live in Fort Lauderdale where sly is pretty common!) Lots of young guys who were obviously BBC as well as all the balding guys who made the (correct) choice to go sly. I was really amazed - there were shiny heads everywhere I looked.

Saw a group of 6 young guys who seemed to be there for a bachelor party. They had 2 sly guys and one guy who still had "fringe" and I heard them teasing him and telling him that there was no way he was going to get through the weekend without them shaving him. I never ran into them again to see if it happened...

We have a LARGE sly population in Phoenix as well. I think it's the heat.

I see hundreds of sly and semi-sly guys all day, every day. I believe it's partly due to the time of year (Summer), and also sports and movies. It's a very popular look right now.

I also think that most men nowadays are choosing to deal with hair loss right off the bat, head-on so to speak, and opting for a buzz cut or shaving completely, and we all know that's a good thing.  O0

I see a lot of shaved heads every day on my way to and from work.  I saw six in about a minute's timespan on the train one night last week.  Most of them seem to be balding guys who are making some good decisions.  I don't see too many BBC-types anymore.  A few years ago it was quite common to see younger guys with full heads of hair who would shave for the summer, but that trend seems to have run its course.  I hardly ever see combovers anymore and it's getting pretty rare to see guys wearing a horseshoe.  Those who do have the horseshoe are keeping it buzzed pretty close.

As for Las Vegas, the higher than normal rate of occurrence may be due to guys who have been wanting to shave for a while but are waiting until they're on vacation to actually do the deed?   :)
