WHOA......
« on: July 29, 2011, 04:00:14 PM »
Was just reading a thread on her and came across an old post of mine and saw the ticker at the bottom.   Realized it's been almost SIX MONTHS sly! Hard to believe it and I still ask myself only one thing about it; why did I wait so long?

Time files, doesn't it?  In the beginning the first 30 days seem like an eternity.  I can remember wondering if I could ever get through them.  And then one day you realize that months have gone by and that having hair is just a fading memory.

This is the only drawback I see with the 30 day rule. That is the idea that one must look forward constantly to be reminded how far they have yet to go. It's kinda like the old story about the man about to climb a mountain. Every day he looks up at the peak and wonders how he will ever reach it, then one day he looks back to see how far he's come. At that point perspective changes.
In this way sly seems to be a metaphor for life.
"Certainly there is no hunting like the hunting of man and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it never really care for anything else thereafter."
Ernest Hemingway, On The Blue Water.

Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.
