I was up to $750 per MONTH at the hair club. They just kept laying it on that I had to upgrade or people would notice. They're experts at playing the emotional side.
Jesse James was honest, he used a gun--this is robbery, emotional terrorism, really pisses SBG's off--but if you run toupee's in Wikipedia, satisfaction, their business is DOWN, and also the schmucks doing transplants, business down. The safe sane and healthy system, SLY, is coming on, but since we don't have any monetary interest, just the sincere best interests of fellows w/ mpb, we don't advertise, except our great looking domes

Eat me, rug makers, eat me butchers--we're winning scum bags.
Excellent post Todd! That came right from the heart I'm sure, I hope you reach some of the fencer's and lurkers.
Great post! I cant remember who, but someone on this site recommended I read As a man thinketh by James Allen (fantastic read and very empowering!). There was one part of the book that totally hit home with me and this is, not to put words in your mouth, what i think pdxTodd is saying. According to James Allen, " A man cannot directly choose his circumstances, but he can choose his thoughts, and so directly, yet surely, shape his circumstances." I firmly believe that going sly allows you to take the bull by the horns and beat MPB at its own game. I know, believe me, that it is easier said than done, but the key is in your own head. Having recently made the transition from a piece to sly, I love the control that I acquired by going sly. For anyone who has worn a piece, you know that you are never in control and always at the mercy of your system. Now, if someone sees me, I'm not wondering whether they know my "secret" or not, and that my friend is power. I've been sly for about 15 days, and I dont want to seem like my transformation has been 100% smooth. There have been a few periods of second guessing my decision, but I know that this was the right decision and one that I am growing more comfortable and confident with by the day.
Mauricio excellent post and great quote! You look great and extremely happy in your picture. It only gets better! Trust me on that one!

You know, wouldn't it be awesome if the Headblade guys, or even better, some of the Sly Guys were able to put on an infomercial about all of the positives about being sly to directly counter the Hair Club propaganda. Hmmmm, I would like to see that!
YES!!! CONFIDENCE! That's what I felt too! And I had the chicks all over me. And I even got a transplant scar.
FYI -- for those that missed my earlier posts -- I was up to $750 per MONTH at the hair club. They just kept laying it on that I had to upgrade or people would notice. They're experts at playing the emotional side. "You would spend that much on a luxury car - why not spend it on yourself to make yourself more attractive?" Makes a bottle of headslick and a pack of HB triples seem pretty cheap!
Holy moly.. and I thought I'd dropped a lot on my hair transplants at $4,800!
This original post is fantastic.
It is true right to the bone that we shave to!
I´ve been sly a week now, even my own Mother said I look Younger and more confident.
The burden has been lifted of caps, hats, and concealers.
To anyone with Confidence issues. I´m sure we´ve all had them at one point and probably more so for some of us with our MPB.
Without sounding too pretentious..
You are yourself. You are amazing and funny, and People like you. Women will find you hot, and Men too. Show an interest in People. Stand up for what you believe in. Listen to People, give advice, talk, and be there for everyone who really care for.
Life is short, live it to the full.
I´m 27 and have lost 3-4 years by hiding behind Caps and Confidence Issues. Since last Sunday, when I took the Shaved Head action.. I will not look back.
Go out there and soak up YOUR World. It´s yours and it has some amazing People out there waiting to see you.
This is an absolutely great post and I am so glad everything worked out.
"Making the decision to shave your head is all about confidence. I let society get to me. Thanks to everyone on this message board I have my confidence back and it's stronger than it's ever been in my entire adult life.
I cleaned up a few messes in my life, I'm walking with confidence, talking with confidence, and met an incredible woman who I guarantee wouldn't have been interested in me in the pre-sly state of lacking confidence.
Take control. If you need a confidence boost pick up the clippers and take care of it. "
PdxTodd,
That was one of the best posts I’ve read since the advent of the Internet! Just so it’s clear, there are unconfirmed reports that I may have had a hand in the development of newswires so, you might know how far back I may be going.
Now here this; effective immediately!! Due to budget cuts, lack of progress and a tendency to not reach one’s goals, “low self-esteem”, “self-doubt” and a “lack of self-confidence” have all been discontinued. That is all.

Freak’n outstanding post!!
In the simplest of terms, using the most convenient definitions Baldbro Todd, “This next shave is for you!” Great Attitude!!!

One of our Lurking Visitors brought this to my attention, so I'm bumping it up. (And I bolded a couple of items in the quote. The original is at the beginning of this topic.)
A short and sweet message to all of you on the fence. Making the decision to shave your head is all about confidence. When i was losing my hair and when I wore a hairpiece the common personality "flaw" that I had was that I lacked confidence. I let society get to me. I let the infomercials get to me. I took the slings and arrows from people commenting about how much hair I had lost and turned that into a ridiculous action of spending tens of thousands of dollars on hair pieces. All in an attempt to boost my confidence. Thanks to everyone on this message board I have my confidence back and its stronger than its ever been in my entire adult life.
For anyone out there worried about what you'll look like, what other people will say, fearing rejection, fearing stares and ridicule - just step back and stop the chatter going on in your mind. The transition - while a shock - isn't nearly as bad as the energy we expend worrying about it. I know that personally after the 30 days was up my confidence level went through the roof. My sales are up, I cleaned up a few messes in my life, I'm walking with confidence, talking with confidence, and met an incredible woman who I guarantee wouldn't have been interested in me in the pre-sly state of lacking confidence.
Take control. Give it up. Read the stories of redemption by 99% of the guys on this message board. Take the step. I guarantee you that people will either not comment at all or will only give you positive praise for what you've done. Its all about confidence. If you need a confidence boost pick up the clippers and take care of it. I guarantee you'll be glad you did.
Yet another extraordinary personal experience which proved that the fears of Sly were unfounded and the exceptional personal growth which can finally emerge from within.
