Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.  I am self conscious after I shave, and try to leave the hat off.  I know it will take some time getting used to the looks, stares, but damn, it sure does feel good!   8)

That feeling is so fine, and it's why I shave almost everyday--and going out just comes naturally--no hat, some sunscreen--good to go.  I think you may increase the frequency of shaving as you become accustomed to the "New Dude in the Mirror" I really do.  Glad it's working--but then never really doubted that anyone wouldn't prefer to be free rather than tied down by a dying mop.  Enjoy.
