I wish I could remember where I heard that quote. I think it was in a Southern History or Political Science class.

Air con is not something we have in most homes in Scotland. We try to save up any heat we get from good weather to compensate for when its crap

Well, IMO, when Google tabs you for it, go for it--great line, almost as good as, "I don't give a damn!"

It's pretty nice at night on the mountain in the Summer so we don't run it often but when we do..... usually about 75 degrees F.

I've often heard it said that if there was no A/C the only people left in Florida would be the Seminoles.

It's 9:23 A.M. Just finished mowing the very small back yard. I'm wringing wet. The air conditioner is on full blast. The air outside is like syrup. God, I hate the summers in SE Texas! I usually keep the A/C at about 74.

90 &90........That is when the temp. & humidity get this high. Before that a ceiling fan.
On LONG ISLAND the price of electric is outrageous.

Used the a/c twice all last year, 2-3 hours each time to cool the house before going to bed. Then used the ceiling fan.

At home, around 75. I have ceiling fans in every room in the house, so that's tolerable. I'm a very hot-natured guy so I like it as cool as I can get (afford) it. At work I keep it at 65 in my office and 70 for the rest of the building. Right now it's in the mid-90s in Alabama and I'm dying. Humidity close to 100%. Come on, winter!!!
