On these really hot and humid days what temperature do y'all keep your A/C set at.?

Wife says 74 - but if it were up to me ... at least 80 (if it were even turned on at all!)

NO A/C for me. I hate it.

I turned it on yesterday at 76, though I usually leave it off.
Here in the Sacramento area, the hottest point of the day is usually around 6pm, and I hate the idea of using it for only a few hours.

We bought a whole house fan, which we LOVE. As soon as the outside temperature is lower than outside, we open windows, suck in the cool air, and shoot the hot air out through the attic. Best investment we've made in the house in a long, long time.

The parents went away for a week and I had it at 72 for a few days but they usually keep it at 78 or so.  I sweat more than most people so I love it cold.

Wouldn't mind those temps at all, as long as it wasn't too humid!

78, two reasons, first and most importantly, at that temperature it removes the humidity--the worst part about our climate in NO; second, old house and though renovated w/ insulation, 13' ceilings keep the room comfortable w/ ceiling fans.  Since our night temps range at or just above 80, 100% humidity, it's enough to dry the air out and circulate it to be comfortable. The a/c is never off, that would bring all kinds of problems from the buildup in the humidity in the walls and furniture.

the one thing that gets me about the sly life is the AC, i never used to get cold easily. now i have to be careful around ACs or i get a cold very quickly! haha

We keep it at 78 or so.

75 degrees. Heat index here has been 105 and it is early in the summer. Glad I had a light color roof put on when we built. I truly believe that has helped

I use window units in my house; the 12 foot ceilings help keep it cool.  I run the downstairs A/C if it is really hot (95 +) but rarely turn on the upstairs unit.  The one in the kitchen runs only if I am cooking on the range.
