Scaling and irritation = psoriasis?

I have the same problem, though admittedly, I've been sly for less than a week now. I am hoping that keeping the hair off will improve the scalp a bit. I have heard that UV light, as was mentioned, can potentially potentially help. Given that I am a computer programmer who sits in a darkened office within a classified space all day (no windows :-\), sunlight is a rare treat for me.
I'll have to keep a lookout for Nizoral.

Another person with "The Heartbreak of Psoriasis" here. I shaved my head yesterday for the first time in about 2 months (between that I'd been keeping it clipped with a #0 once a week). I did it mainly because of the really bad dandruff, and when I shaved the weirdest thing happened. Apparently, the parts of my head without the psoriasis scales had gotten way more sun than the parts with the dandruff, so now I've got this weird pattern of mottled white patches over the front of my head where my scalp didn't tan.
