I've used the CleanHead for about five days in a row now, and I will say I was quite impressed. It was much better than a few previous head shaves with ordinary rotary or foil shavers.First I should note that I'm a white guy with full head of thick, bristly, wavy hair. I'm prone to acne and bumps on both my face and scalp. Usually I blade shave against the grain every other day (this routine actually results in the least amount of irritation for me). What I found is that, for me, the CleanHead was generally on par with blade shaving with the grain. For some spots on my head it wasn't as close as blade shaving, others about the same, and in one area specifically (the back, from ears down) it was even closer than a blade shaving with the grain. (I have thick "guard hair" in the back and blade shaving with the grain doesn't get that stuff smooth. The CleanHead did.)However, as a whole, for me, it was not as close as blade shaving against the grain. To respond to chillpil5 -- for me it visually the same as a blade shave, but it was not totally smooth in all directions. It was totally smooth in many places, though. I could start to feel stubble about two hours earlier in the day than with a blade against the grain. The time investment was about the same -- 20 minutes to shave my head close, either with the CleanHead or with a blade. (Yes, I know some guys here think that's outrageous, but that's what it takes for my head of hair.)Unrelated to using the CleanHead, I'll be growing my hair back right now. Next time I go sly (probably later this summer for a few months) I'll probably use the CleanHead for a while.
