Anything with the word "Christian" in it right now is off limits for me. That's a very dirty word right now!

I became a fan! Good deal!
I'm staying out of the "Christian" debate. BUT, if you need or even want some insight bubbadave, PM me. Sounds like you've had a bad experience.

That's unfortunate, Tyler and I go to the same church and our pastor resigned due to personal reasons, when he announced it was as if the life got sucked out of the place, Tyler said it best "A great leader know's when it's time to step down" ( or something like that )

Hey all!!!!
Bubba is cool with me. He is a close personal friend. I can kind of understand some of what he is saying right now. To be honest, while I still am a Christ follower, I have had some church issues myself. Nothing of the scandalous nature thankfully. But right now, I am not really liking church. I am working through it however! And this is coming from someone who is a volunteer and has been in some leadership positions!

The only thing wrong with church is they let people in it!

People will always let you down but... if I remember to get my eyes off people and keep them on the Lord, well, things are a whole lot better!

Sgt. Pate, I totally agree with you on that. The problem is that those people can often drive you to the edge of sanity! I have had experiences over the span of many years that would push the edge for almost anyone. For starters, I lived through clergy sexual and spiritual abuse. Fast forward, and I am in seminary right now, and have heard of people in our church who have told the pastor to go f himself because they decided to have an affair and get a divorce, when they had no Biblical grounds to do so. Our pastor tried to talk to the offending party, and the guy stormed out of the pastor's office, after having told him to go bleep himself.
In my own case, a member of our homegroup told my wife that I should not be friends with this one guy that I've been friends with for years. Said female told my wife that I shouldn't be friends with him and that she couldn't understand why anyone would be friends with him. She didn't say this stuff to me! She said it to my wife. That's because she knows that if she had come to me about it, I'd of told her that it's none of her business and to deal with her own issues. From there, it got even uglier! The whole thing still hasn't been resolved. (Our homegroup is meeting tomorrow night, and I'm afraid to go, because I'm afraid that I'll be treated like a bad little kid).

I know very well what you mean. But don't be afraid. Be thankfull that you don't just believe everything that people say. If the guy is your friend, stick with him. Don't bail because of someone else's issues. Friendship is priceless and should deserve a fighting chance.
It always interesting how fellow christians warn their 'brothers in faith' about 'bad' people. LOL Jesus would have laughed. Wasn't he the one who ate and hung out with the tax collectors and didn't he stand up for the adultorrers??!!
I speak out of personal experience. (don't want to go into details). But trut in your gut. Do what you believe is right. Remeber, all people, even the nice christian folk have their own agendas. So be open minded and don't be afraid to ask or think what others avoid...
Its about truth. And your relationship with God...
