Been lurkin' for a week or so, and just wanted to introduce myself.
My names Bob, and i'll be 21 here in a few weeks. I started getting a gnarly widows peak my freshman year in high school, I think I was 14 or 15, and it hasn't really ever stopped. Basically i've been going bald my whole life. I can't exactly say its been enjoyable, except for maybe the handful of times its gotten me beer. Anyway, while it would be nice to have my hair back, I know its not going to happen any time soon. I've been usin minoxidil for about two and a half years, but its a loosing battle. Right now ive got my hair at #3, I think (3/8?), but im seriously considering the glitter-finish. I know i need to just suck it up and give it the chop, but it wouldnt be right to make it that easy. i have always been self-conscious about my hair, mostly cause it makes me look a lot older. Its been this way since about the time I started liking girls too, so it hasnt ever really helped me in that department. I think its finally to the point where I really just dont want to worry about it. Im trying to get the confidence together to just do it, but im also going home this week to see all sorts of family for the holidays. Mostly I just dont want to answer all the questions. Its going to happen soon though, and Ill be sure to get some pictures up. Might do a #1 tonight as the first step, let the dome get some color. Im hoping its as big a relief as you all say, cause sometimes it really does get you down.
So yeah, this place is great, you can really feel the love. Its nice to know im not the only one dealing with such a dumb problem.
Thanks for the support
Bob
ill get some pictures of my lovely 'line if I can ever find my camera cord

Welcome--you're at the center of information for guys w/ mpb of all ages, and there are lots of guys experiencing what you've gone through. Sounds good to do the #1. One request for your own good, stop the drugs, they don't work and they may cause damage--hopefully not yet. But shaving doesn't harm the body, an occassional nick is challenging for a few minutes, but by no means harmful.
You will find confidence as a Sly Guy, we promise.

hey man, i was/am in the same boat as you, same style widows peak, im 22 now, been sly for a few months now, at first i was still worried about what people were gonna say, but i sucked it up and went to my cousins wedding without a hat and faced em all, and it was cool, mostly shock but they said i looked clean and tough but i did a big step from a few inches of hair to none. now its an everyday thing, and i dig it, especially with the helmet when riding i have much better airflow. even gone on a few dates some good some

, even got lucky more than a few times all about my age within a year. So welcome, try shaving it, youll prolly like it, if not whatever it grows right back

Hey there. Can't say I started that early but mine began to go during my senior year of high school quite slowly. Then it progressed and I'd say our hairline is pretty much the same right now. I posted on this site in October of last year and didn't get the courage to do it until February. My only regret is waiting that long. All those days of wearing hats and sweating the moment I would have to take it off. I suggest you do it as soon as possible that way if you don't like it you will still have time to grow it back but I have a feeling you will enjoy it very much. Send me a message if you need to chat. Good luck. Oh and the ladies will like it don't worry..

Welcome to SBG's forum Bootleg, good to have you join us. It sounds like you're heading in the direction to face your future mpb head on. That's the way to go.
Try a #1 buzz first to allow yourself to acclimate the new look. I'm pretty sure you will like it, and from there you can go closer, with a 0 guard buzz and so on.
Good luck!
