I had issues with those ass clowns at TSA myself

. I have rather dark complexion, with black curly hair (Before Sly) and because of that I am careful with my Government ID's (Military and Fed Law Enforcement). I took my mil id and placed it with my LE information and handed to the TSA f&*%stick to hold as I passed through the metal detector. She lost her little pea brain and pulled me off the line and took me to the back to play 20 questions. (Indianapolis Airport) Not one person there had any common sense. Missed my ride yada yada yada.......Just doing what my agency said to do. Not at any issues doing the same thing at other airports.
Sounds like you have an attitude problem, no wonder they pulled you aside. I bet you were running your mouth the whole time.

No, I nicely asked her to hold my ID like I have at several airports accross the county (and still do) and this nitwit went off. And no I did not give her any static because that is ticket to me not having a job. I enjoy things like food and shelter. Just wondering what made you think I had a bad attitude with the crazy lady at TSA? I even said that was the only place that had given me an issue.
Might have been a random search. They do select passengers at random for additional screenings.
Why would you ask her to hold your ID.? I'm confused. Is that part of the procedure.?
I think this is not so much a passenger problem as a TSA problem because TSA should have learned by now that at least 30-50% of the passengers aren't really frequent flyers, and for them every time they go there's a different regulation. That puts people on the defensive, plus many are nervous about fllying anyway. They shouldn't jump out at a poor woman who thought 3oz meant how much was left in the bottle of cologne--I've seen them verbally abuse a woman about that--no cause other than that. I've also seen TSA personnel w/ the people skills of a barracuda in heat--just no call for it, please & thank you, and "I'm sorry but" go a long way to calming a bad situation down--but it's rare, too rare to see a TSA agent utilize such simple skills--what did their Mama teach them anyway, not to mention the TSA!

Then there are the really nice one's, I've seen them tell a nervous passenger, "Take your time, just take some time, no need to rush." Disarmed a bad situation quickly.

I've seen TSA stations where they keep a supply of one quart bags, others where they just toss everything if the passenger doesn't have the bag.
There are in actual life very few bad guys traveling, enough to be very careful, but not enough to act like storm troopers. And I see far too many storm troopers out there, and I travel a lot. They need to model off the few really good agents, who are on the lookout for our safety, not on the lookout for a fight.

Not my normal ID Just my Law Enforcement one. When stuff is placed in the tubs they get lost stolen and stolen on occasion during the X-ray and screening process. In order to maintain control of the ID most times I walk up to the Metal Detector and ask the agent to hold the ID Wallet with the Badge because it will set the machine off and then I walk through. The Agent will look at the ID and Badge to check for what ever they need to and off I go. I Just don't like the idea of some evil doer getting my credentilals and doing bad stuff with them. If that means I have bad attuide...well I guess I do.

True Schroman, and good point.

If you are selected for additional screening it's for a reason. You should comply and follow the officer's instructions without complaining.
saintc, I could spar and go on and on with you about this, but I'm not going to waste my time.
It's futile, and you sound very biased to me.

I was selected for a random search several years ago at the Oakland Airport, no biggie.

No sparring wanted or sought out, it's just my experience as a frequent traveler. No organization is perfect, it could be the result of overwork or poor training, even poor personnel selection. The system isn't doing what it's supposed to do, that has been repeatedly demonstrated. It's not meant as a personal affront to anyone.
Oh, and I and my family have been selected for a random additional searchs, and those aren't bad, they haven't been rude and obnoxious as I've seen far too many times in the general line. Maybe they have the more qualified personnel back there.
It's something about US airport security. There seems to be a requirement for TSA Agents to be rude, loud, and condescending during the entire process.
I've flown through Europe at different times and in different areas (big and small airports) and the security agents were never as rude as they were in the US. They were more polite in Mexico too. And I didn't feel any less safe.
I understand that in managing security for large amounts of people in an airport like Dallas or Denver that you need to be louder and more concerned with moving people through the line, but the way in which it is currently conducted doesn't seem to enhance security.
I was going through security at a small airport one time and this lady agent was VERY rude to me. She kept barking commands, "I SAID, to RAISE your ARMS!!!!" I saw another agent look at her like "who peed in your cereal this morning?" I thought it was funny that the other agent recognized how rude the lady was.
