Here is a good question.....
« on: June 17, 2009, 11:03:37 PM »
Milk drinkers....

Gallon of milk in fridge.  Its low, like maybe a glass full left.  Do you pour it in a glass and drink it, or....do you open another gallon and get fresher milk?

When the milk jug gets low like that I wont drink it.  I will save it and use it in a recipe ( at least until the expiration date) but I will not drink it.  I will open another new gallon and go from there.

So what is your story?

Our family are all big milk drinkers. Rarely is there a little bit left in a container.

Agonizing over what cannot be is an insult to what is.

I hate it's taste and smell. It's just good for my coffee.

Here in Germany since about half a year you can just buy milk which is ultrahigh temperature pasteurizised, not  the best taste!  >:(

Did you know that spoiled milk can't make you sick?  The taste might, but it's not bad for you.

There's nothing wrong with the end of the jug.  I can't taste the difference between "fresh" milk and "old" milk that hasn't begun to spoil.

Makes sense since I eat cottage cheese all the time.

Try putting cottage chesse on chips.  It goes great on flavored chips like Doritos, Sun Chips, etc.  I had never heard of it before I met my wife.  Her family always did it.  She grew up thinking that's what cottage cheese was for.

I'll give it a try.  Sounds good.  The thing is, I normally eat cottage cheese when I'm trying to watch the diet.  It's a high protein, low carb food.  But putting it with chips sort of defeats the purpose.  But for you, I'll try it.  (Sun Chips may be the healthy alternative.)
