In New Mexico, it's kind of like Texas.....or the south. We say aight, ya'll, y'ant to. Unless you go to the northern or western parts of the state. The eastern and southern portions are "hick" or "redneck" if you will. That's where the majority of my family resides except here.

Yah, born in Illinois but raised in U.P. and still have family there. I live there a quarter of the year and get all my hunting and fishing in.

Yah, born in Illinois but raised in U.P. and still have family there. I live there a quarter of the year and get all my hunting and fishing in.
I grew up in the LP... southeast of Mt Pleasant about 35 miles.
UP is beautiful country... I worked on Mackinac Island as a tour guide for two summers!

Know the area, had a friend there, is now back in UP and a buddy and his wife life in Saginaw. We're in Rapid River, right on route 2 about 16 miles from Escanaba.

My accent is a mixture... little Michigan (not a yooper accent though), little Virginia, little Maryland, Lot of Chicago!
