On Thursday, my dear stepmother told me about a Oprah show about Diabetes. I was not near a TV to watch it. But I went on her website and found a lot of good info about it. So if anyone is interested in what Diabetes is and what it does to your body, please read this:
http://www.oprah.com/oprahshow/Diabetes-101-with-Dr-Oz-Dr-Ian-Smith-and-Bob-Greene
By the way, I am headed to the gym after this!
Just watched this and now I am scared to death.

I come from a family of diabetics. Father, mother, more than a few aunts and uncles and one sister and brother. Good fortune has walked with me and so far I have avoided it. It is my belief that I have stayed healthy by maintaining a very active lifestyle. My exercise program is very vigorous, some people think I am out of my mind. Twelve years ago on returning to my hometown of Salem, MA after a twenty year absence I sold the car and have been walking or riding a bicycle. Diabetes can be beaten but it takes a determination
to get off you a**.

Way ta go, Marsh!!! Keep up the DREAM!!!
You might try writing down on a piece of paper all the reasons WHY you want to do this once and for all. Then have that paper handy to read a minimum of once a day. And when you read it, connect with the EMOTION it conjurs up with each reason.
This sorta thing anchors your vision of the NEW MARSH into your subconscious so it's not just a matter of grinding out sheer will power!!!
I'm proud of ya, brutha!!!

Hey everyone!!!!
Just wanted to give you a update! The past couple of weeks have been a little bit rough. I HAD fallen off the wagon. Let a busy work schedule get in the way of exercise and eating right. I know I am going to get some hell from Saintc our resident diabetes drill sargeant for that. But as of this morning, I finally lost my 26th pound. I am now 219 pounds down from 245 pounds. I will also be getting back to the gym. I also saw the doctor and she was pleased with the weight loss and my blood glucose levels. So I WILL NOT GIVE UP!!!!

Couldn't have said it better myself. And remember, one reason to really crank it down is to learn to eat and live/exercise a new way, the other is frankly so you can enjoy an occasional treat--emphasis occasional, and not until you get down and learn the new way.
