Hi guys,
Do you find that people's atititudes change towards you when you have a shaved head?
People can, I guess, judge your character by it? Not always fair, but it happens.

Yeah, it can happen. But then again some people will judge you no matter what. So don't worry about those kind of people.

Well, I suppose that's true.
Sometimes it seems that hairstyle is particularly important, as it's so immediate, and people can form an impression very quickly.

I agree with you Steve_E ....
hairstyles can & do convey a lot of information about people especially at first glance, which is why hair products are such big business but I am not so sure about any negative connotations to a shaved head these days, (unless it's an assumption that you're balding perhaps ....)
I think it also depends a lot on what other clothes you're wearing at the time as well.
I mean if I went out wearing tight jeans & 10 hole DM's I might look pretty menacing perhaps but anyone who knows me certainly wouldn't be fooled for a moment & as soon as I started talking any remaining worries would probably disappear too
Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about it .... a shaved head is seen as pretty trendy these days I think more than being a sign of aggression (in case that's what you were worried about) .... oh .. & welcome to SBG's by the way .....
(PS : having just seen the pics you posted up in the other thread ... I don't think you need to worry about people assuming you might be balding either!

I think SLY is becoming more and more mainstream.
It's not strange to show up to a job interview in a suit and tie and SLY!!!
But it still would be odd (depending on the job of course) to show up with a suit and tie and a huge spiked purple mohawk.

I have found that when wearing jeans and t-shirts that people can be a bit leary of a guy with a shaved head and t-shirt. It is actually really kind of cool when you smile at them, give a polite greeting, or hold a door open for a lady and see the smile returned and the change of attitude take place.

I really haven't noticed much change in people's attitudes towards me. I was a goof before I went sly, now I just a goof with no hair !

I usually try to dress smartly even though I wear jeans after work. I usually wear shirts with double cuffs so that it gives me a smarter and sharper image.

Clothes are important too, but hairstyle seems to be one of the most important things of all.

It's wrong but people will forever be judging books by the cover.

My question back at ya is ...
Has your attitude changed since you changed your style?

Welcome Steve_E. I think it has to do with you're overall persona, such as shaved head, clothes, posture, and facial expressions.
