Heyo kuzio here!
The first time I shaved my head was for an extra part in a movie when I was 17. It was a bit unusual considering I was still in high school but I liked it. After the film was finished I decided to grow out my hair again and didn't start shaving again until the beginning of last year at 22 because a rash on my head, this time around I didn't get very good reactions so I decided to grow it out again after a week or two of shaving once it healed up again. Over the next year I grew it out long enough I could tie most of it back, the rash (I'm pretty sure it's scalp psoriasis) has been back for awhile now and this past month I've been experimenting with different haircuts and styles in hopes of healing up my scalp again. Some of my close friends and family are still pretty against me shaving my head so I'll keep it for now but it something I'm still considering. I found this forum searching around the web a few weeks ago and while I've spent most of my time here reading I thought I'd try and join in on the conversation. Nice to meet you! 🙂
Here are a few photos from 2015 newest to oldest: (right now my hair is closest to the one in the middle)

p.s. I read something a little while ago about head shape (i.e. oval, square, round, etc.) and I've been trying to figure out what mine is, care to help me out? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the board, Kuzzio.
If you were not worrying about other people and how they might react to you shaving your head, would you do it? If the answer is "yes," then do it. People will come around to the new look once they get past the surprise of the change. You have a well shaped head. You can pull off the look. It is your hair and your scalp. Do what makes you happy whether it be growing it long or shaving it off.
And yes, several guys have written in to say that shaving eliminated the effects of psoriasis for them.
Glad you joined us.

Welcome. As another fairly new member myself, i have learned about a suggested rule this forum has. If you want to shave your head for whatever reason, keep it fully shaved for 30 days. In that time, you will know much better if you like it enough to say f you, this is my choice, either deal with it or go away to those who may be against it, or if its just not for you. Also in that time some of those against it might come around and realize its actually a good look for you (it is, you look best in the bald pic, i think). So if this is something you really want to do, i suggest you try the 30 day rule. You'll be glad you did, and as you already know, if after the 30 days you decide to grow your hair back, its only a few weeks to do that.

So I decided to jump in and shave it last night!
This was the first time I shaved my head on my own with hair that wasn't already short enough to cut with a razor, it was a bit of a challenge to get the back of my head with the clippers but overall it was an interesting experience and oddly enough it was kind of empowering taking care of it own my own like that haha. I even received a few complements while I was out and about today too.

@Cave Dweller - I have a splotch of pink right now curving along the side and front of my head from the psoriasis though it's improved pretty dramatically since I shaved so thanks!
@wpruitt, SirHarry225, AJ Q-Ball, J_Scott, amatlock2778 - Thanks again for all the positive encouragement (^_^)
Update: Photo! What do you think?

Looks great! You have a nice shaped head. Everyone will get used to seeing you with a shaved head faster than you will. One of the primary reasons I keep my head shaved is that my dermatitis disappears completely when shaved. I hope you have good results too.

Glad to hear you decided to go for it . Now stick with it for a while before you decide weather to keep it shaved or not. I suspect you might regret if you make your choice too quickly. Btw, you look great fully shaved

wow Kuzio! Without the mop to distract them, when people look at you their eyes will naturally home in on your eyes - and what a nice set of eyes! You look great! You look healthy! You look happy! Great decision!
